Calahorra Woha Parfums 2023

It has an opening of tangerine peel/pulp and spicy spices... then out comes an amazing rosewood accompanied by a note of bitter brown sugar.
In the base a green patch warms and balances everything and I smell so much Benzoin. 97% natural (note the colour)... I smelled it at Esxence and heard it again from a post-show sample, I loved it immediately.

An all round masterpiece. This is what nature smells like: it opens up bright, with mandarin notes, almost syrupy, then resins and woods emerge with time. With a 39% oil concentration Calahorra tends to remain closer to the skin, creating a wonderful bubble around you (1-2 meters). Of course with it being 97-98% natural it is not a room filler (luckly) but it is so elegant and unique. Worth the price and the hype it is getting. Get your hands on it asap. ;)

How good is Calahorra? Honestly, it’s simply one of the best fragrances of 2023! The opening is spectacular: juicy, vibrant mandarin blended with a mix of spices that make it irresistibly spicy. Then comes the patchouli—rich, abundant, and of outstanding quality—that adds depth and character to the composition.

Even the visual aspect is a delight: the color of the juice is stunning, and the bottle is a true work of art. And the brand? Absolutely unique: architects who, with their creations, manage to capture architectural masterpieces within a fragrance.

I found it so realistic, with notes that aren’t even officially listed. I imagine stepping into the lift on the 32nd floor, the bar has just opened, the furniture is modern, and the lacquer on the wood still feels freshly painted. On top of the bar, there’s a set-up of ingredients, but what I notice first is the green tangerine, with a bit of zest missing, probably used by the waiter to prepare a cocktail. That bittersweet citrus dominates the first impression.nnIn the background, there’s thyme, waiting to finalize a beautiful savory gin and tonic. From the bar, the view is stunning: a large balcony with all doors open, revealing a vertical forest. The scent of dark green leaves, the thyme, and the woody notes of the branches all intertwine into a natural dance.nnLooking back at the bar, the raw wood and the varnish of the shiny surface celebrate a royal medley between nature and modern architecture. This is not just a perfume, it is art in a bottle. Chapeau to the creator.

Calahorra is one of them. It invites you to let yourself be carried away by its continuous contrasts, by its countless facets, giving you a whirlwind of emotions.
I had the opportunity to discover it at Pitti and I was overwhelmed. I immediately felt the need to smell it again, to try to analyze why it had bewitched me. Although describing it is anything but a simple task, its peculiarity lies in the ability to combine two apparently distant worlds in a gentle and refined way.
A world represented by citrus fruits, spices and sweet and sugary scents whose protagonists are green mandarin, the peppery and spicy notes of cloves and sugar cane which embrace woody, balsamic and resinous notes whose protagonists are notes of thyme, rosewood, copaiba balm and a wonderful Patchouli, dusty and green.
From this union a dense, spicy, resinous, woody and sweet perfume is born. A wonderful melody, a journey of pleasure that will accompany us throughout the day.
