a synthetic fantasy...

For this review, I would like to take a small detour...

Many interested parties for this fragrance are probably looking for an LV Imagination clone, and in my opinion, clone reviews usually follow a very similar structure. I hope I don't lose my readers here, but I think it's important to take this detour in order to make a proper assessment of the fragrance.

Well, first of all, clone reviews address how closely the clone resembles the original, and subjective percentages are mentioned. I have several clones on my shelf and would claim: While exceptions confirm the rule - because they do exist - if you test the fragrances side by side, the following can be said here as well:

Is the clone as good as the original? No, it is not. Does it capture the fragrance DNA well? Yes, it does. You can clearly recognize what the clone is supposed to be.

The next argument usually follows with: For this price and thus x% of the original, you really can't go wrong. The fragrance also smells significantly more expensive than the €20 it actually costs. So it follows: Really great perfume, super price-performance.
Well, wait a moment... You do get proportionally more performance for the price compared to the original. However, it must be clearly stated: The level of the original is not reached! One must be aware of this in order to evaluate the fragrance later. Here, the Pareto principle applies: 80% of the result can usually be achieved with 20% of the effort. However, to reach the remaining 100%, you have to pay for the remaining 20% with 80% more performance.

Therefore, the comparison to LV Imagination is, in my opinion, unfair to Mazaaj Infused when truly evaluating the fragrance. Sure, price-performance is great, but that doesn't factor into the quality of the fragrance. One simply has to ask themselves how much the whole thing is worth to them. Those who really want Imagination will probably have to reach for LV. Those who can live with compromises might find peace in clones.

In my opinion, this fragrance should therefore be viewed independently of its idol. It is not bad even then! If you don't force this comparison, you might simply find a fragrance that you really like.

So, how is Mazaaj Infused then?

You get a citrus-fresh fragrance that is underpinned by a certain synthetic sharpness. Often, citrus and synthetics together create a sort of cat litter aroma, but I don't get that here, as the tea association rounds off the accord. The fragrance comes off the skin very sharply and actually develops linearly. This may not sound particularly good, but the fragrance is overall pleasing and pleasant, and I would rather call the overall package honest. I rated the fragrance with a 6.5, but that is because I pay attention to ensuring that the distances on the rating scale between all rated fragrances are consistent. In this overall series, I simply cannot rate it higher.

In my review and the rating, it may not seem like it, but I actually like it! I do think it's a fragrance that can be worn well and gladly, and I enjoy having it in my collection!

Thank goodness, a happy ending after all...
