Reserved Black Cedar Zimaya 2024

You free this Zimaya from a wooden box, the front of which can be slid open. Inside lies the truly beautiful bottle, which doesn’t come across as appealing in the photo here. The cap of the bottle is also wood-like.

Looking at the price, I am once again extremely positively surprised by the delightful scent that has come my way.

Without much thought, the color turquoise immediately came to mind when I first perceived the fragrance. A dark, serene turquoise, similar to the color of the bottle, just a bit less blue...
Turquoise is said to have a calming and gently invigorating effect, similar to what can be said about Reserved Black Cedar, if one wants to keep it brief.

The scent starts lightly citrusy, without being sharp or prickly, and reveals a fine spiciness from the very beginning, thanks to cardamom.
A slight floral note, white and pure, is also recognizable in the scent texture.

And right here, a pleasantly warm, slightly invigorating sweet note joins in, which always remains spicy, fresh, and clean.
This is clearly mainly due to styrax.
This is a natural resin that has a scent somewhat reminiscent of amber. For me, however, it is less balsamic, but a bit greener / grassier.
Balsam fir and moss complement this wonderfully, resulting in a truly great composition.

Some might certainly attribute a "shower gel note" to this fragrance, a comparison I have distanced myself from many times, as shower gel has such a variety of scents that the statement and comparison hold little significance.
But yes, the Zimaya does bring a certain invigorating and, despite the sweetness, fresh and pure character.
For me, however, the forefront is a harmonizing mix of styrax, balsam fir, and cardamom.

I paid around 15 euros for this, which I consider an absolute bargain in terms of price-performance, making the name truly deserving of being called a positive hit.

In my opinion, the scent fits perfectly into spring, chino pants, white shirt, light blazer. Ergo, perfect for business and the office and/or meetings.
In high summer, the sweetness then permeates the scent too strongly, so the right wearing time is just starting now.

On my skin, Reserved Black Cedar lasts about 6 hours, clearly noticeable, while the sillage significantly decreases after about an hour. Reapplying should not be a hurdle at this price.
