Beautifully soft
On its own, this is a soft, vanilla skin scent. A perfect bedtime blend, sweet (but not cloying) and gentle. nBut layering is where it shines. It tames animatics, adds creaminess to florals. nIt opens with an almost generic bright fruity floral note that wafts away quickly, leaving a smooth vanilla in its wake. Other than that burst when applied this is linear and it lasts. nMy favorite vanilla is Absolute Aphrodisiac, which is more boozy and complex. However I don’t always want a sexy vanilla. This is not sexy- it’s comforting. Safe. nAnd it plays well with pretty much everything. nnI was bored at first, but this might be the scent I want attached to my memory. It’s just got a lovely vibe. Comforting.
Incredible for layering
I hated this at first because it is a bit much. Nothing subtle, it’s a loud powdery rose and it gave me a headache. But applied very sparingly, this is a perfect layering scent with other Initio that are also too much. A tiny spritz of this plus Musk Therapy is soft and warm. This plus Absolute Aphrodisiac is sexy and lush. This made Can’t Get Enough tolerable with my chemistry. BUT ONLY SPARINGLY. It lasts ALL DAY with a barely there application… full sprays are chemical warfare. I adore this now, in moderation.
Fruity vanilla sandalwood
I do not get the notes as listed. Fresh, this has a tart plummy smell. There’s an intriguing creaminess as well that prompted me to skin test. MISTAKE. What I presume is the caramel vanilla smells like sandalwood on me, and that is perhaps my most nauseating scent. I despise sandalwood and it’s so inescapable at the moment. That phase lasts too long. The Final dry down is back to a muted creamy/tart scent that Is pleasant but not worth the ride.
Heavy, thick, incredibly dull
This is mainly peppery sandalwood soaked in cloying vanilla with a bit of incense, but mostly it’s a jumbled mess.
The top notes vanish after only the briefest appearance, leaving behind a musty, dusty, unpleasant aroma that WILL NOT QUIT. It might not have a huge scent bubble, but what sticks to the skin really sticks. I’ve scrubbed and scrubbed and still cannot get the funeral gloom off this perfume off of me.
Don’t get excited if you love funerary scents though. This one is the smell of people at a funeral, not the ritual itself. A mishmash of perfumes and colognes with a touch of incense. It is heavy, stale and boring.
