The stuff dreams are made of
Looking back - and fortunately I didn't just come to this realization when writing this review - I was a strange young man.
I was interested in classic men's wardrobe and the literature of the great Fritz Raddatz from an early age.
Often to the chagrin of my fellow students.
At that time, due to my very limited budget, I shopped a lot in second-hand stores and built up a high-quality wardrobe.
One fabric that has always fascinated me due to its complex production and great wearing comfort was cashmere.
But as a student from a modest background, I was (initially) denied this luxury.

A few years later, in 2022, I was strolling through Berlin's KaDeWe department store with my girlfriend and came across Guerlain's "Eau de Cashmere" by chance - and what can I say: I had a second olfactory experience in this department store (for my "first time", please read my review of "Oud Wood" by Tom Ford)!
Here, a perfumer had succeeded in capturing the elegance, warmth and security that I associated with cashmere in a fragrant essence.

I love everything about this fragrance.

From the citrusy opening of bergamot and mandarin, to the heart of well-dosed iris and dry lavender, to the base notes of warm woods, vanilla and a hint of musk.
"Eau de Cashmere" is luxury and elegance in its purest form.

And tonight I'm sitting here wearing a cashmere sweater by Brunello Cucinelli, wrapped in this fantastic fragrance by Guerlain.
The soft warmth of the fabric, the subtle elegance of the perfume - it's a moment of humble contentment.
for me, "Eau de Cashmere" is not just a fragrance, but a tribute to quality, to durability and to the quiet but captivating beauty of true elegance.
