Holle 01 as blind test
Favorable coincidences have played a brand new bottle Holle 01 into my hands - in the new design, and completely naked: no outer packaging, no info label, no Inci, no anything. So what I had got there, I tested blindly, so to speak.

Although I imagine that I have a halfway good olfactory memory, my last, rather superficial encounter with Holle 01 was a long time ago; there was no recognition. And: If you reckon firmly with a new fragrance, you won't recognize a well-known fragrance.

I saved Holle 01 with a top note reminiscent of detergent, here I noticed a good portion of vetiver in the top note. Towards the heart note, a cool, distanced, restrained and very modern wood fragrance developed that was free of any organic substance thanks to contemporary aroma chemicals (not meant to be derogatory). Abstract wood without tree, chips and bark. The framework is hard and solid, but at the same time somehow shimmering and difficult to grasp. Zero flowers, no sweets, even if there seemed to be something balsamic peeling out, maybe resins or friendlier woods, but homeopathically dosed.
Vanilla, Tonka, Moschus and Co. had to stay completely outside until the very end.

Probably my blind test led to the fact that I simply overinterpreted Holle 01 ("Fragrances: Iso-E-Super"). The perfumer assured me that no reformulation had been carried out, especially not with vetiver in the top note.

But no matter, it is beautiful, and in my collection it is the antithesis to Oriental bombs and chyprecrackers
