Aquatique

Mint is listed in the notes by Amouage and recognized as such by many. For me, there is no type of mint discernible here, neither Moroccan soft spearmint nor sharply fresh spearmint. Instead, I perceive numerous and complex green notes and damp woods; the ivy is olfactorily very present here.
Tough green leaves and moist wood in a forest. Meanwhile, Beach Hut remains clean and dry, woody, with a sweet flash of myrrh. In summer, it is simply refreshing, at 30 degrees or more. Longevity is out of this world, and sillage is beautifully controllable through the amount used.

Opus XII - Rose Incense is for me one of the best Amouage releases of recent years: mystical and calming, dark and light at the same time.

The opening consists of juicy rose, gentle in character and intense at the same time. Not how I imagine rose in (Arab) fragrances. This rose is realistic and tangible, close at hand. Green, herbal, and natural. Simply incredibly good: Otherwise, I like rose in fragrances little to hardly at all. The rose water slowly fades, but does not disappear until many hours later. It leaves the foreground to a clear incense note. The incense is bright and lovely. Like the unburned and fresh resin, complemented by sweet myrrh, vanilla, and elemi. The depth of Opus XII - Rose Incense is impressive, creating an impression of mystique and complexity. At the same time, all components feel high-quality and are soothing and meditative in their own right.

Compliments? None, not a single one. Yet the performance is really superb, longevity and sillage are worthy of an Amouage. However, everyone who got to test Opus XII - Rose Incense was simply thrilled. This Amouage does not offend, is very pleasing and harmonious without becoming boring. Truly rare for me: Truly Unisex, without being unsexy. A fragrance for going out, for wearing for oneself, or to please others.

Been outside a lot. There was always a smoking fire nearby. Fruity mythical the rest of the surroundings, earthy melancholic: This is how this land is.

Never unpleasant, although perhaps a little bit. But that's how it has to be, that's just how it is here.

The colder it gets, the nuttier Terroni becomes. Truly an interesting scent that can become part of one's character. If you're looking for something clean and fresh, you're definitely in the wrong place - more like the form of an oriental reassembled from completely unexpected notes.

Very similar by the way is Rausch by Schwarzlose Berlin, which reveals a lot about the notes - something Gualtieri usually doesn't do. Cypriol and earthy vetiver, but Terroni is so much more. And also many times stronger than Rausch.

A scent with edges and corners, perfectly suited to underline a dubious and eccentric personality. Gualtieri probably made this for himself, a perfect match. Attractive and repulsive at the same time, infinitely interesting.

Sunshine is the first Amouage that I truly love, and that right from the start. It’s completely different from most of the offerings, although I wouldn’t accuse it of being monotonous. Anyone who can appreciate sweet fragrances and is looking for something special should give Sunshine a chance.

“Is there cake?” I was asked, and I understand that. That’s Tonka, and really good Tonka at that. For me, this is already gourmand, but it only really smells like something edible in the late drydown. Before that, an interestingly medicinal lavender, candied orange, and green notes accompany the opening, which lasts a long time. The sunscreen associations are understandable, a mix of these almost synthetic vibes paired with a warming sweetness. After many hours, it really becomes something like crème brûlée.

As mentioned: I simply love Sunshine, was fascinated after the first test, and have repeated this often. By the way, this was in the depths of winter, so for me, it is anything but a summer scent. If it’s summer, then it’s in the evening.
For me, it’s more masculine; I can hardly explain why that is.
Longevity and sillage are top-notch, with strong projection for many hours.
A unique melange that I haven’t smelled anywhere else.

Megamare is the sea, algae, and a salty crust. A piece of wood has been drifting for a long time. I usually don't like aquatics, but this one is simply wonderful. Not a single reaction so far has been negative; longevity and radiance are unparalleled. Entire houses can be filled with 2 sprays. I tested it on paper, but only on skin does it become truly convincing. It can be washed off easily, but a shower can definitely let it survive. Meanwhile, Megamare remains transparent and ozonic; you can feel not only the spray but also a sun. A day at the sea, just preserved and available in cans.
After a hot day, Megamare brings a smile to my face, making me think I was somewhere else. Because it is definitely still present.
