She is missed
If I had to say who raised me, it would be my fragrance-free father and No 19.
No 19 taught me almost everything, shaped me, comforted me, supported me. We laughed, fought, hung up the phone, cried, baked Christmas cookies, talked for hours. No 19 was simply always there. No 19 was a wonderful woman. Somewhat citrusy-bitter, at its heart full and warm with rosy Ylang Ylang, proud and upright like moss-covered cedarwood.
Fifteen years ago, my mother passed away, and with that, No 19 disappeared from the house.

Just recently, I suddenly found myself in a perfume shop again, face to face with No 19. Why is my mother hanging around in a perfume shelf? And who wants to smell their dead mother after 15 years?

But after the first spray, she was there! Or rather, it was the pitiful physical remnants. Because in recent years, quite a bit of No 19 seems to have died and been lost with her. What used to be warmer, softer, powdery, and more elegant amidst all that Chypre is today fresher, greener, sweeter, and yes, also somewhat emotionless and somehow soulless. Do I still want to argue and talk for hours with it? I think not.

No question, No 19 is still a magnificent scent for great women. Elegant, stylish, energetic, as delicate as it is self-assured and full of spirit. And for all women, whether mothers or not, a must-have!

Still. She is missed.
