Fanfan20 has told you a lot already - LoVann is a basenote module that is destined to layer with the linker module LoAnt and one of the three topnote modules LoRose, LoBitt or LoJazz. It's perfectly wearable on its own as well.
In general I find the concept very exciting, although the wheel isn't reinvented here (then again, why should it?). Etro or TheBodyShop for example did some similar systems that found some success in the market.

LoVann is a warm, gourmand vanilla scent with fresh, zesty red apple that bares big similarity to the likes of Lann Ael or Traversee du Bosphore. Both scents I own/owned and love/loved and therefore LoVann is predestined to appeal to me - which it does ;-)
On its own LoVann is quite detectable, although not necessarily space-filling. I tried the combination with LoRose and noted that the vanilla scent stays more in the background and warms up the rose scent, making it turn out rounder and softer, yet it loses a bit of its presence. There isn't much developement in LoVann (worn solely). All notes are there from the beginning and stay there over the course of time. However it loses most of its zesty fruitiness after about 2 hours.

If I wouldn't own Lann Ael, LoVann would be something I would buy because I really like it and think it's a nice, cuddly scent.

Oh dear,
I like coffee very much -
I absolutely love amber -
tobacco leaves are nice -
cedar too is nice for me -
clove is notably absent -
and meanwhile I´m okay with a little whiff of honey.

BUT

Who came up with that crackpot idea to put basil into the coffee???

It really could have been a wonderful fragrance - I get kissed awake by a divine and authentic note of coffee the instant Copper Skies hits my wrist. A hint of honey takes away the bitterness of the black coffee beans and a subtly-tart touch of wood brings the fragrance to volume. After a little while the humid-brown, herbal scent of tobacco leaves adds another kind of sweetness to the fragrance without making it smell green or fresh and the balmy-resinous amber lends a dark vibrant depths to Copper Skies which melts the perfume to my skin.

I could dance with joy ...

...but for that ghastly green herbal Note. It´s there from soup to nuts and makes my nose want to crawl away :-(

Imagine some gentlemen sitting on a cedarwood table, puffing away on their pipes, a good steaming cup of fresh brewed coffee in front of them but the atmosphere is off ... Today no good old boys club feeling for them...
...cause no one cleaned the table or aired out the rooms after lunch and the stench of pasta with lots of fresh basil hovers about.

Do you know that too? My Grandmother kept all her supplies for baking and cooking in one huge drawer.This drawer had a distinctive scent: There you could find vanilla beans, cinnamon, cloves, safron, allspice, flour and so on. In wintertimes this drawer was frequented quite often – we´d use cloves for making red cabbage, bay leaves for the sauerkraut and for baking a whole lot of spices and baking supplies – mostly the drawer was left open and the whole kitchen smelled spicy and kind of dusty thanks to the flour.
In my olfactorial memory this distinctive drawer-scent is closely linked to christmas time with my family.

Now, why do I tell you all this?
That´s because the perfume “Seven Veils” - the seven veils of seduction, epitome of oriental eroticism, symbol of sexuality smells like the drawer my grandmother kept her baking supplies in. It smells of comfort, of overindulgence but mostly it smells of cloves, star aniseeds and floury dust.
Some time later, after the spices have vanished partially, I can smell lush flowers – roses and orchids I recognize. Also there´s a warm and woody note behind these flowers and deep in the back of my nose I can taste the scent of carrotseeds. This typical soft, sweet-flowery scent like marzipan – if ever you smelled it you will always recognize it, even in small contents.

The headnotes of Byredos Seven Veils are too much for me - too much spices. Furthermore it reminds me of Coeur de Noisette which, in my opinion, is softer and more wearable.

The Alhambra a World Cultural Heritage in Granada, south Spain is one of todays greatest tourist attractions all over Europe. It´s a fortified (palace) village including a citadel built in a traditional moorish architectual style. For years now I´m fascinated by this seemingly plain reddish brown fortress sitting on top of a mountain defying the centuries. But there is great beauty to be found inside such as the Court of Lions or the Generalife – combining oriental overabundance and natural elegance.

Also this is how I perceive Antonio Viscontis olfactorial interpretation of the Alhambra.
The perfume Alhambra is a sweet, spicy and woody oriental – a thick and multi-faceted fragrance which encases its wearer kind of like a warming cashmere shawl. But also it has a space-filling sillage and great longevity.

It starts with a kind of freshness representing the dawn of a new day when it´s still cool and calm outside but with the foreboding of warmth and bustling activity in he air. Early bakermen are already busy making their famous sweets with coriander and saffron. This sweetness captivates my senses while taking me along into the resinoid and nearly fruity heart of the fragrance. There I find rosebushes in full bloom shedding their scent into the withering heat of the day. A hot gust of wind now rushes through the city whirling up all the long-lost notes – here´s a hint of coriander, there´s a touch of bergamote... Whilst I´m awaiting the oncoming night in the shadows of old knobby trees, hoping for relief from the heat of the day by darkness and golden-citric myrrh.

Alhambra is a fragrance for dreaming, so alien and at the same time so protecting, so encasing you feel safe and sound wearing it. A fragrance like a hug from your father – strong, ever-present but not overwhelming. And it accompanies you all day long.
