Dawg

Since I first smelled this fragrance, I was in love. And I like vanilla scents and was curious about this one. I didn’t know it until then. And I can’t even remember if it was my first Tom Ford. I’m not sure, but I don’t think so. I believe I had already tried Oud Wood! In any case, I had read a lot about the fragrance and had to get it.

About the scent:

Upon spraying, the vanilla-tea note hits immediately and that’s where the wow factor began. The interplay of the tea and vanilla is simply unique. Then the tobacco joins in the background. And the scent gets even better. This whole combination of spices, tea, tobacco, and vanilla is perfect. I haven’t smelled a better vanilla-tobacco fragrance so far. Can we also call it a vanilla-tobacco-tea scent?? because that fits better in my opinion. I’m still in love. And in summer when I can’t wear it, I have to smell the bottle more often .-) I must say I would have liked to have smelled the first version of this king because unfortunately, I don’t know it. It’s never offered here either.

Sillage and longevity:

Now, after mentioning the old version, let’s talk about sillage and longevity. I have to say it’s good, but for me, it’s not beast mode as the first one was supposed to be, according to what I’ve heard. The longevity for me is about 8 hours. Which is good (on the skin). However, I actually prefer to evaluate it on clothes or in between. The sillage is good, but after a few hours, it’s more noticeable to others than to myself.

Conclusion:

Anyone who doesn’t know or have this fragrance or is looking for a very good vanilla scent or tobacco or tea scent should definitely test this fragrance. For me, it belongs to the top 5 of the best fragrances out there.

So how do I start!?

I thought for a long time about whether I wanted to buy this fragrance or not.
Now I have had it for quite a while, and I do not regret it.
Actually, I wonder why I waited so long. After all, I believe I own 12 Creed fragrances. I love them all.
It was probably because it is said to smell like Davidoff's Cool Water.
Hmm, I thought and thought!
So much money for a potential fragrance twin!

But then I told myself, no, it can't be, after all, it's Clint Eastwood's favorite scent. And I, as a huge Eastwood fan! No, it can't be, it doesn't smell like Cool Water.
So I....oh whatever, I buy it, as Eastwood says in Dirty Harry 4 - Made my Day!!!

So I ordered it, of course, right away in the Black 120ml edition.

The fragrance arrives. I open the package with joy.
I open the perfume box and take out the awesome black Creed GIT bottle.

And I say to myself, this can't go wrong with such a bottle!

I take off the cap, and the first spray on my arm.........and .......yessssss I was not mistaken or wrong with one of my many blind purchases.

An amazing, beautiful, fresh, green, herbal, strong scent! Simply perfect.

A bit mossy too. I like it very much.

I have placed GIT in 2nd place among my Creed fragrances. 1st place remains simply Royal Oud.
Yes, you heard right, not Aventus ;-)

As for the topic or comparison with Cool Water, I find GIT is worlds better without putting Cool Water down.
Personally, I also think that the fragrance Aspen for Men by Coty is much closer to GIT than Cool Water. Honestly, by a long shot.
Aspen has this green mossy aspect that Cool Water does not have. Just not as well balanced as in GIT.
However, Aspen only costs 10€ for 100ml.

Regarding sillage, I must say GIT is really good considering it's a spring-summer fragrance. For me personally, it works all year round.
Especially when it is a bit colder outside and the dew, for example, is still on the meadows, GIT is perfect!!
So sillage is really good and long-lasting.

The longevity is top-notch. Which cannot be said for all Creed fragrances. Only here it is really good. 8 to 10 hours are possible.

Conclusion: Clint Eastwood was right and made my day ;-)
GIT is among the best Creed fragrances available.
No comparison to Davidoff's Cool Water.
I hope it stays this way and is not changed. The bottles are already new.
Good thing I still have the 120ml.

P.S
I have not yet tested the comparison to Tres Nuit by Armaf, which is said to be perfect like GIT.
But the Tres Nuit bottle is on its way to me ;-) it is said not to have this mossy aspect. I am curious.

ADDENDUM: 06.04.2018

I could now test Tres Nuit. I must say yes, it is good, but it is too sweet to come close to GIT. Creed is still far away.

I must also mention that I forgot a very good one that I still have, namely Étoiles Silver by Al Haramain. That is GIT with lemon, I like it very much. And it's cheap too.
I also gave it 10 points.
It is really top-notch.
