What is the hype about
I really do not get what people like this fragrance for so much… I mean, it is pleasant but thats about it. Slightly zesty grapefruit and orange in the opening, saffron giving it some warmth, and you also get something slightly green. The whole fragrance is very heavy on tonka bean, present from the opening to the drydown : sweet, almondy and cakey

Violet coffee
For me, it starts off with smooth and slightly roasted coffee. The coffee is not overpowering though, but rather discreet. The scent is supported by some toffee sweetness coming from the resins (labdanum, benzoin, peru balsam) and tonka bean. The ouds here aren’t fecal or barnyard at all, they are dark, resinous and slightly chocolatey. This is not a heavy composition by any means though, as the violet note gives this fragrance a beautiful lift and velvetiness. Some people say they get ammoniac when they smell it, but fortunately, I’m not one of them

Truly amazing
First of all, Eli (the perfumer) is probably one of the kindest persons you will ever meet. He is so passionnate about what he does and I can guarantee you you won’t regret trying his work.
Now about the scent itself, it starts of with a very well-done root beer accord : earthy, bitter and slightly fizzy. The labdanum makes it sweeter and darker. Then, something jasmine-like appears, giving the scent a little more lift. The civet grounds the whole composition and just blends everything together. You also can’t forget about the heavy dose of vanilla present troughout most of the scent, making it more gourmand. Overall, this is a nearly perfect balance between earthy/ bitter and gourmand/ sweet. For a first release, this is truly amazing

Atypical rose-oud
I would say this fits into the rose-oud category, however it’s quite different than just a rose-oud scent. It starts off with cola-like rose and quite heavy animalics, tingling my nose in the beginning. Then, magnolia joins in, pairing with the fresh may rose, still keeping that cola effect. The oud also joins and some of the animalics still linger, but this time toned down. Later on it basically just becomes sweeter. Nice fragrance but tingles my nose and something about it kinda throws me off

Favourite cacao
After trying quite a few cacao/ chocolate fragrances such as RO2 from ALD, Ambergris cacao from Elkhaldi and Siberian oudh from Barzakh, I think Habana cocoa remains my favourite. This composition relies mainly on tobacco, castoreum and cocoa. The tobacco is dry, the castoreum is animalic, smoky and slightly leathery, and the cocoa is rather gourmand. The siam benzoin sweetens the whole scent and gives it a vanillic touch. I would classify this as a slightly gourmand gentleman scent
