Oh you enchant me - unfortunately ONLY me
Wonderful soft vanilla envelops me. Subtle, although the saleswoman had good intentions when spraying my hair and my jacket. With every breeze, I smell a seductive, creamy-powdery vanilla. Time and again, the scent unexpectedly reaches my nose, never sharp or intrusive - no, always subtly restrained, yet present and perceptible...
A great noble vanilla cream scent that unmistakably smells expensive!
Unfortunately, my husband doesn’t like it at all. I came home proud and euphoric, thinking I had finally found THE perfect scent for me, and his first comment - without me prompting him to test a perfume: "Uh, what smells so much like grandma?"
Grandma? Excuse me? Oh no!
Okay, I admit, once you have that thought in your head and focus on it, you can really perceive it as a grandma scent.
Because of this comment from my husband, I can’t buy it after all. At first, I thought: A woman does it herself, he has to like it for ME! But this association has now spoiled the scent for me, now I only smell "grandma" when I test it.

So unique that everyone recognizes it
Do you know that feeling when you're searching for a unique fragrance - yes, a signature scent that makes everyone think: "oh smell, here comes HER"?
I thought I had found this scent in Flower by Kenzo: wonderfully powdery, feminine, sweet without smelling like cotton candy, a little floral, no fruity notes (which I can't stand), plus it lasts wonderfully long and isn't too overpowering...
Sounds too good to be true?
Well, here’s the catch: EVERYONE recognizes it. When you walk past a woman wearing Kenzo Flower, you immediately know: ah yes, look at that, that's Flower by Kenzo. Everyone instantly knows the affordable price, everyone has that strange bottle in mind, everyone knows you can get it at any Douglas around the corner. It just smells the same on every woman.
And that is - for me - the problem.
I don't want everyone to think I'm settling for a cheap Douglas scent, especially in such a futuristic bottle without elegance, without any hint of class.
Conclusion: A pleasant, soft, powdery scent - actually perfect - just not for me.
What a shame.
