L’homme Ultimate starts out with a blast of citrus and it quickly gets out of the way for the spicy ginger to take the driver’s seat. For a moment the ginger is all up in your face and overwhelming for my taste. The ginger inevitably mellows out and everything then comes together very nicely. The floral notes are noticeable from the the beginning however, they remain in the background and are blended in a manner that doesn’t make it feminine whatsoever. This is very unique and unlike anything else I have in my collection. Given that it’s discontinued I was able to find one on eBay for a reasonable price.

The rating alone was enough to grab my attention and spark my interests. I started out my journey trying to find Allure Homme Blanche on eBay. After receiving it in the mail I found a mark on the bottle that looked like the atomizer had been removed, it appeared to have been put back on crooked and looked somewhat mangled; I was devastated because I couldn’t find it available anywhere else.

Long story short, I wasn’t willing to be deterred quite so easily. I scoured department stores, discount fragrance websites, and even thought about returning to eBay for another chance. Who would of ever thought of ordering it directly from Chanel website?!? Me that’s who and thank goodness I did, because they had both 50 and 100 ml bottles. When it first arrived my son who was as eager to open the box as I said, “spray it on me dad.” Throughout the rest of the day I kept calling him over so I could smell him again and again. He was a great sport about it though but would shake his head and laugh at me each time.

I’m not sure I can add much more to these other reviews other than validate that…Chanel has really done something quite amazing here and I honestly can’t get enough. From beginning to end this was an absolute pleasure to wear. To me the smell is somewhat of a cross between creamy lemonchello and lemon meringue pie with a hefty dash of sophistication. I liked this so much I’ve already ordered a backup bottle just so I could guarantee that I’d be able to enjoy this for a very long time.

This is absolutely fantastic, a must own. I find it disappointing that Prada has chose to discontinued l’homme intense though…what are you thinking Prada?! Luckily enough, I was able to find a 150ml bottle on eBay that was reasonably priced and thought to myself, “why not?” After smelling this I strongly suggest you do the same, before these are completely gone from existence.

Couple things I’d like to add, it is important to note that l’homme intense gives off a strong floral ‘unisex’ kind of vibe; but, there’s this a spicy, woody, creamy aspect to it that makes it more masculine than it’s predecessor. The performance and projection are on point and do not disappoint whatsoever. It’s also extremely versatile; a top tier fragrance in my opinion.

Certainly not my favorite out of the Luna Rossa line. If I had to rate them this one would come in fourth out of the ones that I own Black, Carbon, Ocean, and this the OG. Even though it’s not my favorite it’s not bad by any means, just kind of one dimensional scent for me. What I got was a soft and minty projection all the way through and overall I thought it was quite pleasant. Full disclosure, my first assumption was that this was going to be a skin sent after spraying this on paper; with that being said I was very liberal with the amount of sprays the first time I wore this, and could still smell hints of it around 9-10 hours later. It’s safe and non offensive fragrance, a nice one to have in the collection.

The explanation on why I rated the bottle lower on this from the other flankers, is the atomizer doesn’t extend as far and the upper part of the bottle which is aluminum is offset in the back.

I now get the reference everyone has been saying about this being a dialed down Dior Sauvage. You won’t be turning quite so many heads because it’s not nearly as bold or harsh, but there are definitely some similarities. I have been smelling my arm all day trying to decide if I like Carbon or Ocean the most out of the Luna Rossa line. In either case, Prada pulls off another success!
