Oud and oakmoss
Oud, oakmoss, sugar, saffron and musk... this is the order of potency for the notes I experienced*. If Afnan had simply named this: Oud & Mousse de chêne (taking a leaf from Cartier), it would still be a suitable name. Alas they did not. However know that this takes creative inspiration from a community favourite, something ending with 540.

The oud is very potent... but not animalic and off putting, it marries well with musk, saffron and incense. The oakmoss is delightful, not as potent as the oud note, but still present enough that it can be smelt easily (if your nose is familiar with oakmoss, that is). And although the listed note is caramel, it smells more like sugar... all together, the fragrance cannot be called 'sweet', but it is sweetened.

It is quite elegant, unapologetically middle eastern by its potent oud and saffron, and very refined. It does not smell like an affordable fragrance, but rather like something that would fetch a budget-for-first price. As it is not a light and airy fragrance, I would not advice blind buying except 1) you enjoy the community favourite DNA, and/or 2) you enjoy oud-leaning fragrances.

* Tested in a tropical, humid climate

Meandering experiences of love and hate
My experience of this fragrance meandered from love to dislike, then settled on 'like', as I experimented this in different seasons, and climates.
In winter: The predominant notes were the ones I bought this fragrance for- iris, tuberose, musk and sandalwood.
In summer: The predominant notes shifted slightly to almond, iris, musk and vanilla. It's at this point that this perfume began to smell a lot like CH Good Girl, which I notably dislike.
In high humidity, I found myself unable to stand the smell of this fragrance on my skin. The iris and tuberose notes all but disappeared and this became an almond-musk-vanilla heavy and rather nauseating scent. On clothing, it wasn't too bad, but I had to put my bottle away.
As humidity dropped to below 40%, I found myself reaching for this again. The dominance of the almond note subsided, iris reappeared and the vanilla toned down.
That said, this is a highly feminine and musky fragrance. It has excellent projection and longevity and would be ideal for evening wear.

Tuberose all the way
If, when you sniff this fragrance, you will be surprised that it was released in 2018. Its heady bouquet of white flowers points to the 90s, yet it is fresh because of its citrus-heavy opening and warm, courtesy of its tuberose- sandalwood dry down.
Capucci de capucci extreme presents a feminine scent, I have never worn it with anything other than a dress, yet I sense it can be pulled off by a formidable man.
This perfume is not for everyone- namely those who have no love for floral vintage perfumes (e.g. Elizabeth Arden's Blue Grass) or those who would suggest that a perfume might smell like someone's grandmother (and not as a praise).
This fragrance is for those willing to take a chance on smelling quite different to the maddening crowd.
It doesn't project long- the first 2 hours with arm's length silage, ~5 hours longevity, 7 if you sniff your clothing.

Far from the occidental crowd
Ylang ylang and saffron are the first notes to jump off warm skin upon application, followed closely by sandalwood. In the first 10 minutes, the oil presents a woody, spicy, oriental affair that is intoxicatingly gorgeous and unmistakeably oriental in its scent offering.
The ever so slightly earthy-powdery orris, spicy balsam, and sweet musk (ambrette) reinforce that oriental scent cloud around that delectable saffron-sandalwood heart, and when the heart mellows, the notes that remain are undeniable oriental.
Silage and performance when applied to skin or clothing, are quite strong for the first 3 hours, longevity on skin is weak- 3/4 hours, but on clothing, it clings for more than a week.
The perfume oil is preferable to the EDP.

Scent
Feminine, green floral
A blast of galbanum, lily of the valley, hyacinth, and bergamot in the opening followed by tender white florals. In the mid, the galbanum and hyacinth retain their strength, faintly reminding me of Patou's Vacances, faintly, just.
It is fresh, green and light- moderate projection, silage and longevity- reapplication several times during the day is a must. This is not a fragrance that overwhelms or announces.
A visual picture of this scent would be a lily flower arrangement, that burst of green notes when you trim the stalk intermingled with the sweet floral note from the flower you're trimming.
There is something wholly elegant and feminine about this little modern chypre that charmes me to pair it with a flowy dress whenever I choose it as my scent of the day.
