Oriza Legrand - Le Regent
Looking at the notes, I thought this would be too ambery and dense for my tastes. I recently tried Ambre Précieux by Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier which was indeed too dense for me. I suspect the heavy dose of myrhh to be responsible. I love Oriza Legrand, so I had to try this anyway. I don't find this cloying or dense at all! This is lovely, powdery and warm. I interpret this as a powdery vanilla. It is not the most unique Oriza Legrand has to offer, but it's very likeable.

Atelier des Ors - Bois Sikar
This is intriguing; I like it. Right from the start, I could pick up on the guaiac wood. I didn't need to look up the notes, as guaiac has a very distinct smell that is prominent here.

It has a smoky aroma, almost reminiscent of barbecue—meaty, even. Yet, at the same time, there is a freshness, particularly in the opening, that contrasts with the smokiness. Initially, I thought something camphorous was responsible for this freshness, but after reviewing the notes, I can't pinpoint what exactly contributes to it. Is it the cypriol or the nutmeg? Perhaps the cedar leaf? I'm not sure what the latter smells like in isolation.

After a while, the freshness subsides, giving way to a spicier profile, with a hint of sweetness emerging as well. The sillage seems stronger than that of most other perfumes I’ve sampled from this house.

Looking at the reviews, this perfume appears to be quite divisive...
