One Million Offshoot? Not with this Sillage!
During my visit to the perfumery this week, the saleswoman included a sample of this freshly released "One Million" offshoot in my bag.
I must say that I quite like "One Million," it's a great party scent to stand out; however, I also associate the fragrance less with its overly generously applying clientele...
Well, what can I say?
"Cologne" is not the first offshoot of this fragrance giant, but I like the idea of developing the scent in a lighter direction instead of an even heavier one (as happened with Intense and Absolutely Gold).
I treated myself to three spritzes from the sample and was immediately surrounded by a fresh, citrusy aura. I can clearly perceive the rose and tonka bean, as well as the marine notes of the heart note.
Wow, a really great fragrance! If I had tested it directly in the perfumery and not here at home, I would have bought it immediately as a "One Million" lover, even though it bears no resemblance to its big brother.
The scent takes a completely different direction than its big counterpart. Paco Rabanne has chosen the summer kickoff as the perfect release time, the fragrance fits ideally with the hot season. Very fruity and fresh; quite feminine, definitely unisex. I really like that, a lot!
If I didn't know what I had sprayed on my wrist, I would never have thought I had a "One Million" offshoot under my nose! This way, the wearer of this fragrance at least won't be put in the same drawer as the usual "One Million" wearers.
Nevertheless, I am glad I tested it at home. After an hour, I can no longer perceive the scent at all, not even when I sniff directly at my wrist, despite three generous sprays (the big brother would be omnipresent-annoying with the same three spritzes).
The thought that this could really be an Eau de Cologne (as mentioned in the ParfumoNews) does not come from nowhere - yet the scent is clearly labeled as Eau de Toilette on my sample.
I am disappointed. The scent starts off great, then completely collapses. This could have been a really great everyday fragrance, especially since it is truly not comparable to "One Million."
Scent (Top Note): 90%
Sillage (Top Note): 80%
Scent (Heart/Base Note): -
Sillage (Heart/Base Note): 10%
At this price, I would have hoped for more than just a one-hour top note. I would rather stick with my summer everyday fragrances "Jil Sander Sun Men" and "Lacoste Pour Homme."

Sweet Spice
As I was strolling through the local DM to stock up on hygiene products for the coming week, I stopped in front of the fragrance selection. In the rush with which I usually handle such purchases, this part of the DM has never been particularly important to me.
As a teenager, however, I always got my first fragrances from the drugstore; I only ventured into the big perfume shops after Christmas when my wallet was nicely filled again.
Unlike most Parfumo noses, it seems, I am not averse to drugstore fragrances. For little money, I discovered and grew fond of quite a few treasures here as a teenager.
I scanned the shelf and my eyes caught "Signature Man" by Otto Kern - it had the most elegant bottle of all the offered scents, was placed quite high up, and was probably intended more for grown-ups than for teenagers.
Quickly pulled out my smartphone, went on Parfumo, and saw that the fragrance was rated over 60% - a respectable value for drugstore perfumes. The 30ml EdT went into my basket - without using the tester.
I just checked online and compared prices: In the Douglas online shop, the 30ml EdT costs just under €18 - at DM, I got the same 30ml for under €10, and the 50ml variant was even (relatively speaking) more expensive than the 30ml bottle in the drugstore.
My recommendation: Definitely do not order online, drive to the nearest drugstore, and save nearly half!
If only I had tested the fragrance in the store - I would have saved ten euros.
Sprayed it on my wrist as soon as I got home and I was... disappointed.
I recently realized that I attribute more significance to fragrances than most of my social circle and really enjoy engaging with them. That's why I registered on Parfumo :-)
I'm writing my first comment not about my favorite scent, but about this one - to warn others!
The fragrance itself is truly intense; two sprays are enough to have it constantly in your nose. Unfortunately, that's probably the only positive thing about it.
Personally, I find the scent too overpowering and I don't like the combination of sweetness and spice; I now have a headache from it. If I had gained more experience, I would have certainly noticed this after reading the pyramid - but I am (still) inexperienced and now the fragrance just sits around.
As other comments here have already described, the character of the fragrance consists of a woody, spicy sweetness - this is absolutely not for me, as I now know; either a perfume is woody/spicy or it is sweet/fruity/fresh, but definitely not both!
I hardly perceived the top note at all, but the orange blossoms and cinnamon linger in my nose the whole time.
I haven't been able to notice the tonka bean so far, even though I actually really like it.
I can certainly understand why others like this fragrance so much. If I were attracted to the combination of strong spices and sweetness, I would surely be pleased to have discovered such an intense scent for only €10!
Since it unfortunately does not appeal to me, I am glad to wash it off right away and indulge in the tonka bean in "Midnight in Paris"...
Those who like the fragrance can probably wear it with almost anything - especially in winter, as it is quite heavy (definitely unsuitable for sports). A typical everyday scent.
