For me, Iconic Amber Oud is the perfect evolution of La Nuit de L'Homme (one of my all-time favorites) - but in an even more mature, stylish form. Both have a similar style and are suitable for the same moments.
If La Nuit is the charming young new starter at the party, then Iconic Amber Oud is the elegant CEO who enters the room and immediately exudes respect.
In other words, where La nuit de L'Homme drifts into an incredibly sweet cardamom lavender note after the first few minutes, Iconic Amber Oud goes into a cardamom, saffron and peppery note. Only later does the Welton sandalwood, oud and amber emit a similar sweet but woodier note. There is no lavender.
It must also be said that this is a very beginner-friendly oud. No animalic notes.
For me an absolute signature fragrance - modern, masculine, without being loud. Perhaps more suitable for the colder months. It has a great presence (5-7h). If you like La Nuit de L'Homme and are looking for a more luxurious alternative, you should definitely give this one a sniff.
The price is definitely steep at 190-210€ for 100ml. If you have too much money, you can risk a blind buy here.
The bottle is stylish and has a magnetic closure. But for some reason it leaks on me, which I only consider an exception.
