Something special is here
If you like Aaron DNA and good deal, this is perfect.
I've tried so many perfumes from his range, and although I do not really care for exterior gratification Notorious and Patchouli Noir from him are some of his most complimented in my small experience.
This is 99% the version it was when he launched his brand, no leather at all, the mandarin really combines well with the vanillin and heliotropin & patchouli. the musk accord softens the composition, I prefer this to many of his 'Ouds', this is so wearable and versatile, designer niche vibe.
It feels almost complete, mass appealing and fun.

SO I thought Aaron was going in a more niche direction with this,
This opens quite intresting with the saffron and spices, but it quickly fades away in an amber spicy sweet base, that reminds me of the dry doen of "The dark side" from Francesca Bianchi, but cleaner.
I do not pick up any Civet and not much Myrrh, definitely not a Myrrh like in Orientals Velours, there's also something in this base that is similar to his Tabac or tabac vanille.
Very safe, the civet should give a slight dirty note, if not what's the point of listing the note.
Velvet Greenery
Spruce, slight licorice, invigorating green opening.
A velvety myrrh and vetiver accord follows soon after, it's original, it doesn't feel too Oriental, it's still very classy and french in execution, supported by the Jasmine floral bit nicely.
A pale vanilla to help balance the green and bitter parts, runs through the composition. Not sweet, just enough to keep the equilibrium intact.
On the official site it is now on the "limited releases" and the batch will be produced once per year, since the sales were moderate.
I can see why, Oriental Velours doesn't shout, it's quiet elegance, but this is a very masterful blend, it feels simple, wears minimal, but has so much depth.
