Steal of a deal

M. Micallef scents are rated rather nicely by the Parfumo community and I myself have "Art Collection - Rouge No. 2" in full bottle and a decant of "Watch - Time for Love".

Based on that I jumped on a deal of which I will supply the link. It is a blind buy but I believe that the clean notes of Pomelos (a grapefruit type) and the iris may be to my "fresh from the shower" taste.

The price is a song and there are only 4 left. The reason is that here you are paying for a refill. So you don't get the fancy M. Micallef bottle - but you get the content. Fine and good. I have done this before with other perfume purchases and I wish there were more opportunities to get a simple refill of an expensive perfume. Who cares about the bottle? Only if you doubt that the content is NOT the same.

The reviewer in this link speaks well of the whole matter.

Good luck if anyone dares, also. I have already jumped.

They came today and I couldn't resist trying them. I ordered 2, the No 21 that you did and, yes, it's just awful. But I also bought the No. 11 and darned if it isn't an actual perfume--a creamy oriental gem. Smells like a cross between Ciara and Chloe, so for me this is only half a mishap.

Thanks, Pipette. I'llr eturn mine unopened when it comes. A similar thing is happening with Caron's Fleurs de Rocaille and something called Fleur de Rocaille (note no s) by Caron for Women. Apparently, ripoffs abound.

I've seen this on ebay and some other site. The surprise is that these refills were so cheap. Sorry for you Pipette but hopefully others of us will learn from this.

No. There was nothing "decent" in it. Roaches would be offended if this were used as bug spray, to get rid of them. Seriously, this must be a fake. The bottle is simple and has no stamped four-digit manufacturer's code which would be the same stamped onto the packaging IF THE ARTICLE WERE GENUINE. Some business entity called 'Perfume's New Generation' is the distributor. Made in France. So what?! I am amazed that this possible and that many of these bottles are kicking around on the internet, on various Amazon outlets. I am very disappointed and consider this a lesson learned. I wonder whether M. Micallef is aware of this imitation going on, using their name and befuddling the customers. Be warned.

Anyway, I hope there is something decent in it

The German newspaper article was written a little bit on the sensational side. Well, the jury is still out on the verdict of the (fake?) perfume. According to tracking, the package is on its way. I agree, "Buyer Beware". Will deliver these news soon.

Thanks for the info, Apicius. It was cheap and the "nose knows," so we'll see.

"Could be that if something is too good to be true, it is false?" Nah, Pipette. In my experience, a great many things too good to be true are true.

Personally, I would do without testing such a perfume. http://www.welt.de/finanzen/verbraucher/article121531304/Wenn-im-Parfuem-Urin-steckt-und-im-Mascara-Blei.html

This bothers me now. Could be that if something is too good to be true, it is false? We shall soon see because the product is on the way to my mailbox and I will read the packaging information, and check the juice, of course. I have no way to compare it to the original. Would M.Micallef issue refills? Only a call or e-mail to them would clarify but I have neither the time nor the energy to get to the bottom of this . Suffice it that if the "perfume" smells nice, I shall use it, if not it becomes room spray or will be tossed. I will let you know how this pans out.
In the past, I have purchased a refill of Pascal Morabito's "Or Noir" perfectly legitimate in Sak's Department store and it was authentic.

It is actually to the detriment of perfume manufacturers if smart people scrounge around for refills and never spend the money for the luxury item bottle (aesthetics may not matter) and hunt the internet for refill opportunities. As we all know the actual perfume in a bottle is only a percentage of the costs and the hoopla rest is accommodated by a huge mark-up. So, WTF.

I have never heard that Micallef is selling refills. I t simply doesn't fit to this house. Refills usually come in splash bottles but this is a spray bottle. The original bottle of the Exclusives series comes as spray perfume with the sprayer firmly attached so it cannot be refilled. The vendor has a very questionable and cheap product linup on Amazon with items like "Cybergenics Iso Test Testosterone 30 Ct". And at last: Micallef perfumes will never ever be available for 8 $. This is fake. Beware!

$16+ with shipping? No reason not to. Thanks, Pipette.
