Sensory Deception
The sultry heat settles. Night falls.
I walk through a dark alley. Although it feels uneasy, it is the shortest way. Cold sweat runs down my back. The alley seems endlessly long. I hear footsteps behind me. Instinctively, I walk faster, but the person matches my speed, so I start to run. The end is already in sight and I feel relieved. Unfortunately, I celebrated too early. I feel a heavy object hit the back of my head, then I only see stars against a black background. My head is pounding. I think I might be sick, but I can't.

................
Hallelujah, it looked so pretty in the turquoise shop, so I thought I would spray it directly on my wrists. Fatal mistake. I should have tried it on those test strips first. This is not my thing at all - I tried to scrub this "fragrance" off (with a lot of soap), but it is more stubborn than I thought.
Hard to believe that there are such innocent ingredients in it... I really just felt nauseous afterwards.

A Day in the Candy Store
I enter a candy store and am almost overwhelmed by the sweetness, as well as the pink decor.
However, this intensity soon gives way to the scent of pink cotton candy, berry gummy bears, and marshmallow.
I feel like a child again, carefree, worry-free, and happy.

Flower Dream
The sun is slowly setting, the sky is tinted pink, the flower field shines in a reddish glow.
There is no one else around. Soothing silence. I lie down in the fragrant field and look up at the sky. It definitely smells of flowers, but also slightly of red fruits.
At first, my senses are overwhelmed by the intensity, but gradually the scent gently envelops me.

Spring Morning
It is a warm spring morning.
The air is clear and filled with ripe pears. I am sitting on a swing hanging from a pear tree, letting the surroundings wash over me. Everywhere, white blossoms are scattered by the gentle breeze.
Now and then, I catch a floral hint carried here from the adjacent flower field.
I pick a plump, green pear from a low-hanging branch and take a delicious bite. The sweet freshness unfolds in my mouth and caresses my palate.
Even after some time, the sweetness has not faded, but envelops me in its light veil.

The Encounter
I have been working for some time in a fine dining restaurant to financially support my family. It is hard work to satisfy the demanding guests.
Most of the time, I forget the guests again, as it is just a fleeting moment when I serve the food, but somehow one of them stays particularly in my memory.

She came to our restaurant one evening. Styled to perfection with everything that goes with it, in a violet chiffon dress that unfolded its full splendor with every breeze.
It looked as if her hairstyle could withstand a hurricane, and her flawless makeup resembled an expensive work of art.
But that was not the striking feature that stuck in my memory.
It was her presence, her very self-confident aura. I knew she would not accept a "no" and that I had to be very careful with her - and the way she moved. As elegant as a swan. She must have been a successful ballet dancer from New York or Sydney.
One thing I knew right away: I didn’t like her.
Somehow, we still ended up in a conversation, and the more I talked to her, the more it became clear that I was wrong.
She was actually very nice, and we got along quite well; nevertheless, she maintained her poise and steadfastness.
