Vanilla + Myrrh + etc. sounds more complex and exciting than EdM turned out to be as a blind buy for me: I perceive the scent as quite a linear vanilla fragrance and was initially quite disappointed. I couldn't identify the strong myrrh aspect that others describe. Only in comparison with other vanilla-heavy fragrances does one come to appreciate EdM. It is indeed less intensely sweet, more naturalistic, and slightly smokier. I wear EdM to sleep.
