A Nostalgic Niche
Ora is a fragrance that evokes nostalgia with its aroma , transporting me back to my childhood. Growing up, indulging in 'Sweet Paan' (Betel Leaf) was a luxury, and the highlight of that experience was the 'Gulkand' (made from rose petals and rock sugar) inside it. The menthol sensation combined with the rose flavor was sublime during my early teenage years.
Ora captures this essence perfectly, with its initial scent featuring rose and pink pepper in harmonious balance. The fragrance is soft, slightly sticky sweet and spicy, yet radiant. As it open up with time, the scent reveals Oud's woody characteristics that are subtly animalic (without being offensive) and earthy, complementing the opening notes seamlessly. The addition of pine is a masterstroke, setting Ora apart from other Rose/Oud combinations on the market. The green freshness, with a hint of resin, blends beautifully with the Rose/Oud interplay, elevating the fragrance smell to a higher level.
If you're a fan of sweet, spicy florals with a touch of outdoorsy energy through pine, I highly recommend checking out Ora. Its performance is impressive, lasting 7-8 hours on the skin with ease. I'm thoroughly enjoying it.

Ink by MALLO is a total game-changer if you love tattoo ink! Tattoo artist GAKKIN and Mallo Parfum teamed up for a limited release, and perfumers Antonio Lasheras and Dr. Rajesh Balkrishnan nailed it. This scent is like nothing I've ever smelled - dark, fruity, and utterly unique hovering around Ink.
The ink note is insane, eerily similar to tattoo ink. Sourced from natural carbon-derived ink, it's bold and rich, setting the tone. The fragrance unfolds with Raspberry's tart kick and Styrax's warm undertones. Nagaland Oud adds subtle dryness, while Caledonian Sandalwood balances out the ink's omnipresence.
After an hour, Coal starts shining with smoky, leathery notes. Labdanum's sweet, animalic presence balances out the darker notes, and incense rounds the scent beautifully. The notes harmonize perfectly, preventing Ink from becoming overwhelming for you or your surrounding.

Thankfully, my high expectations were exceeded.
The journey begins with a striking blend of cardamom and saffron, evoking a sense of mystique and strength. The spices are elegant yet bold, making a statement. But just as you're absorbing the initial impact, vanilla swoops in, softening the edges and adding a touch of sweetness to an spicy opening. This introduction is merely a precursor to the magic that unfolds.
As the fragrance evolves, the warmth of frankincense emerges, mingling with the rich, resinous labdanum and earthy dampness of myrrh. Beeswax brings a subtle honeyed nuance (a masterstroke), while guaiacwood introduces a woody character which is not only smokey but gives a hint of raw tobacco (which isn't listed).
