You are most welcome, Cincy! If only Dior under LVMH had not gone crazy with all of the reformulations! I was thinking about buying Diorama, Diorella, and Diorissimo in the new bottles this past holiday season, but then I read some of the comments at Neiman Marcus (I believe, it may have been one of the other stores), where all of the vintage lovers were crying foul, so I figured that I best steer clear of the new versions rather than suffering another bout of disappointment as I did in the case of Mitsouko...
Thank you for the kind words, Cryptic. You'll love Bryan and Bigsly. They are very intelligent and have produced an amazing debate, both sides of which seem compelling--until one realizes that they cannot both be right! I love reading them for that reason. Enjoy! A propos of top notes: that happens to be the crux of one of their most vigorous disputes! ;-)
Thanks Sherapop for this article. I just received Diorama in orginal box and sealed with wrap. The contents had evaporated some and the top notes are gone. Sigh
Wonderful article, Sherapop. As long as there are individuals like Andy Tauer around I will continue to purchase new releases. My passion for vintage stems mainly from an interest in perfume components that have either been outright banned or heavily restricted. I agree that old perfume is of necessity chemically-altered perfume, but in my experience that usually translates into missing top notes, and I can live with that subtraction.
Thank you for mentioning Bigsly and From Pygros, both of whom are new to me. I look forward to getting acquainted with their fragrant perspectives. :)
