Spring, Carefree Days, and Vacation
Spring 2014... I was cycling with my dear friend, whom I have known since elementary school, as we do every year since we turned 20, to blooming ornamental cherry trees by the river...
"Oh, it smells so good like primroses here!" I called out to her as she rode just ahead of me, trying to get through the narrow spot... "Primroses? I don't smell anything..." She shrugged. I, on the other hand, was instantly lost in this heavenly scent of primroses, which reminded me so much of my childhood, and I truly believed it was coming from the early bloomers in the front gardens we were passing by. The scent gives me a feeling of carefree childhood every time... how I used to buy primroses in spring with my mother and place them on the table, and again and again, I would hold my nose in them to inhale that wonderful fragrance.
It took me some time to realize that on that particular day, it wasn't the primroses, but the wonderful Fleur de Figuier (Eau fraîche) that my friend was wearing. Since then, I have been raving about the scent. I asked her several times where she got it... As a result, she gifted me a set with soap and shower gel in that scent... The soap has been sitting in my linen drawer for 9 years and still exudes its wonderful fragrance... I have thoroughly enjoyed the shower gel with every use, and apparently, I raved about it so much that a year later, she gifted me the Eau fraîche for my birthday.
Like a precious treasure, I initially guarded it and only ever sniffed it without spraying.
One day, I spontaneously took it on a short trip. For some reason, I had the perfume with me, and it became my absolute travel scent.
Since then, it has been "my travel perfume" and must not be missing on any trip.
By now, I only need to smell it, and I feel like I'm on vacation, by the turquoise lake in the gentle sunshine.
I discovered the fragrance notes later and compared them to the fig tree in the garden, and I must say I am amazed that I can really perceive the fig leaf so well. I can hardly believe that there are no primroses in it. As the name suggests, Fleur de Figuier Eau fraîche is a fresh, for me also zesty scent, while it has something soft in the base. For my personal feeling, I would add the word "captivating," as when I smell it, I just want to fall back because I love it so much and am overwhelmed in a positive way.
