just wondering

Is there some kind of a rule that every perfume house that's managed to stay afloat for a few years has to have a frag named after their street address? "Look, we made it, and we're confident enuf that we are not about to go under so here's our address"

I think it's not that easy to come up with good names. At least an address isn't cheesy. :-)

What if they wznt to expand and move to another location?

What if, eventually, they will pretend that the street was named after their perfume?
Maybe they want us, the buyers of their perfumes, to write letters to them? But then, they have to give us the arrondissement .
Maybe they are less inspired and follow the trend here, in the US, where there are Maple , Main , Elm, etc. streets in all cities .
I do not think that the name of a street is suggestive of a scent.

Off the top of my head: Hermès "24 Faubourg", Boucheron "Place Vendôme", ELdO "Archives 69", Diptyque 34 something-something, Guerlain "Champs-Elysées". If you know of others, please add!

My knowledge being so limited, outside of Rue Cambon I can't think of any others offhand. Can you name a few so I can snicker along with you? :-)
