Classic, classy legend...
Though I own Joop! Homme for a long time, I just thought of reviewing him, stimulated by another similar (for me) perfum that I just bought. From the start, I should add that i don't own or owned the vintage formulation of this. Just the current. My bottle is from a batch of 2016.
Joop! Homme is a unique perfume. Original and bold, brilliant and rebellious. Joop! Homme is the thing that brings warmth in a winter story strewn with colours, joy, good pleasure and dancing.
Its opening is for me very, very similar to Bogart Pour Homme, smoky cherries and tonka, sweet cherries for Joop and sour ones for Bogart. The drydown is different, but both keep the cherry accord until the end.
In drydown Joop! Homme loses gradually but not totally the cherries and increases the smokiness and mixes with it a melange of cinnamon, vanilla and jasmine. Indeed, it's sweet, but what a classy sweetness!
We complain that fragrances have a synthetic smell in a world where all things have become synthetic? However, Joop! Homme does not seem to me smelling synthetic.
The perfume deserve its place between (living) classic legends.
The performances are very good, especially the longevity. The projection I didn't find it so monstrous, but rather moderate. It does project very good, but only in first 1-2 hours, then it settles down.
Smell 10/10 (for uniqueness)
Longevity 9/10
Sillage 8/10
Performances/price ratio 10/10
Overall 9.5/10
That means HIGHLY recommended, I love it!

Fair perfume for the price
I received yesterday early morning my Jaguar Classic Gold. Blindly bought it, based only on reviews. Nice package, gorgeous bottle. It's a very good perfume for its price, though not spectacular. But let's say and admit that you cannot find so many perfumes smelling like this for about 15-16$. It opens with a citrus dominant, then transforms quickly in a sweet-creamy vanilla-apple-patchouli scent. This is what I smell.
Performances after a day of tests:
Smell 7.5-8/10
Longevity 7.5/10
Projection 7/10
Overall 7.5/10

Highly recommended!
This is the second Bogart I own after Bogart OMS Gold Edition. I received it yesterday early morning and I made my first impression about it. It has a strong opening, where I found ressemblance with Joop! Homme. Both share at beginning a cherry-tonka smoky-like dominant (sour cherries for Bogart, sweet ones for Joop). No tobacco at all for me. Next phase: the smokiness diminishes and a lot of patchoulli appears. But the late drydown is different: the sour cherry-tobacco accord do appears in the drydown and it's there until the dissappearing of the perfume, which is very late. Awesome smell! So, I don't agree the so-called linearity of the perfume, as some people say. They may be misled by the omnipresence of the sour cherries note. It has at least two phases, at least for me.
Performances are remarcable: very good longevity (at least 10 hours on the skin), very strong projection in the first 2 hours, then slowly and progressively it diminished. Can be smelled on the skin after 10 hours without problem.
After Bogart OMS Gold Edition and Wajid Farah Enigma, it's the third strongest perfume I own. And the smell is awesome. Bravo, Bogart!

Too much rose for me
Blindly bought this based on very good reviews.
Rose, rose, rose... and some discreet oud.
I can't share the enthusiasm of some who reviewed so favorable this perfume. Maybe it's just me. I hate rose dominant perfumes and not because i don't like roses, on the contrary, I love them. But the rose note in these arabians is so pungent and, unfortunately, so dominant. Al Haramain Excellent is a strong perfume, at least in opening. The opening really burns nostrils. For me it's a linear perfume, with an omnipresent rose note. Only in late drydown rose note diminished and a musk-amber faint combination can be revealed.
For lovers of rose note I reccomend Mukhallat Oud Al Mubakhar: it's even stronger than this.

Absolutely nothing in common with Lapidus PH as some say. Lapidus is heavenly.

EDIT: for compliance I'll not modify my original review, but I'll supplement it. I wore the perfume some days and I accommodate myself with it. Its stridency diminished and I could smell also under the harsh note of rose. Now I conclude that the perfume is not so bad, but still isn't between my favourites. It has good performances/price ratio and it could be a good choice for rose based perfumes lovers.

EDIT no. 2: in fact the perfume is outstanding. The quality is much above the price. Now I like it very much.

Smell of GOLD!
As a lover of vintage and powerfull fragrances, I read absolutely all reviews about this beautiful scent, then I blind bought it. :) Bogart OMS Gold Edition is a modern perfume, but clearly inspired by classics. Some people say that Bogart OMS Gold is like a mixture of Kouros, Lapidus pour homme and Dali pour homme (?). In my oppinion, the opening of Bogart OMS Gold is very, very similar to current formulation of Puig Quorum (soapy like it), but nothing in comun with Kouros. Not at all. It can be compared with Kouros, but only by analogy of perceptions, not by similitude of smell.
The dry down has vague similarities with Lapidus, but only marginal and not so strong like Lapidus. Not so animalic like Kouros, nor so fresh like Quorum. It's rough, strong and persistent. Poisonous maybe (it reminds me the DDT). But I love it! It's not for all noses. Only for connaisseurs. :)
Exceptional longevity and projection. On my skin lasts more than 8-9 hours. 2-3 hours of projection, then progressively but slowly it calms and cuddle up at skin level. I would put it among the most sophisticated harsh perfumes for men.
A must have for people of category that I belong (as said above)! Loved and detestable in same time! Controversial, but adorable!

Addendum: I reviewed and completed my opinion above mentioned, it smells marginally similar to Kouros (animalic) on my clothes, but just after 3-4 hours after application. Anyway, I like more the smell of Bogart than Kouros's. Kouros is a little bit "salty" (in nauseous sense of the word) than Bogart OMS GE. It's by far the strongest perfume I own! A gem!
