Italian Summer
I haven't experienced a summer in Italy for a long time. However, I used to spend quite a bit of time in Italy... vacations on the Adriatic and later, as a young adult, I took a language course in Siena. I fell in love not only with an Italian but also with the country, with all its sunny and shady sides. In the early nineties, I worked for some time in Rome, and it was a formative, intense phase.
I find it hard to explain why I associate Candy so strongly with Italy. The scent is actually quite simply "constructed." Few ingredients are listed, and I'm sure I've encountered more complex and sophisticated perfumes.
And yet, it exudes for me this gentle, slightly caramel-salty aura that lets me indulge. With my eyes closed, I stand by the sea and hear gentle waves, I walk through the
Campo di Fiori and breathe in flowers, fresh pastries, and people. It is a longing that this delicate scent awakens in me. On one hand, it gives me a sense of security with its soft, sweet hints of benzoin. On the other hand, it presents a beautiful, well-groomed Italian woman who wears expensive lipstick and moves elegantly through the streets of Rome. Her hair is thick, shiny, and exudes that alluring lipstick aroma. When I step closer to her, I can sense a soft, subtle musk. I would love to be by her side now and enjoy a cappuccino.
It is Dolce Vita for me - deep feelings of happiness that spread throughout my body. The sun on my face, a smile, and Candy on my skin.

A Light Summer Breeze...
Angel Iced Star is a fragrance that spontaneously captivated me to make a blind purchase.
I haven't done that in a long time and I must say, it's quite exciting not to know what to expect.
I was pretty sure it would suit me, as Mugler fragrances develop very pleasantly on my skin... to be precise, calmly (for example, Alien is a delicate, erotic
powdery jasmine dream for me). Since I really like gourmands and Angel is a fragrance icon, I was curious about this summer variant. I've heard and read almost only good things. The fragrance notes also match my current taste, and it can definitely have a bit of beach piña colada feeling. I think it just fits the summer!

The fragrance arrived quickly and the bottle is truly beautiful (if one likes it a bit kitschy). I find glitter and kitsch great in moderation. The bottle stands stable on the shelf, which is an absolute plus point. The star sparkles wonderfully in green-blue-purple tones.
It begins, as expected, very fruity. Pineapple and coconut are the main players. They form a happily dancing pair on the beach, with delicious piña colada in hand. Casual, fluffy, sweet. Later, the fragrance becomes milder and creamier. The fruitiness gives way to a vanilla-coconut blend.
Now comes the point where I don't know if it convinces me: With all Mugler fragrances, I have a beautiful, long-lasting base. That's actually one of the best things about these perfumes. I miss that with Iced Star. It ends at some point, after about 6-7 hours, and then it's gone. No slow farewell.
I know from experience that some fragrances need several tries to win me over. I will test it at different temperatures and with appropriately prepared skin.

Overall, my personal conclusion is: a beautiful, cheerful summer fragrance. Rather close to the skin and not room-filling. With average longevity. Much lighter in character than its predecessors.
