Where is the Dragon ?
A lot of hype, but ultimately nothing particularly interesting. The oud is barely noticeable , and the fragrance comes across as much more spicy than oud-driven. It’s very far from what I would consider an artisanal perfume, although it works well as a niche fragrance. the dragon never really woke up ..

Let the musk explode through your nostrils…
I’ve had the opportunity to own several versions of Tigerlust, from the very first yellow-label edition and the Tigerlust Pure Parfum i to the semi-bespoke Tigerlust: Kanbojia and finally Tigerlust 1990 . I know the DNA of this fragrance very well.

I let the older versions go, even though they were magnificent, because I was expecting something even more. Kanbojia was beautiful and absolutely worthy, but there was still something missing in the drydown that would have made it a true 10/10 for me.

So my expectations for Tigerlust: Kurotora were extremely high. The older versions were already excellent, but they were missing those few extra grains I wanted to find in this new edition. This version is made with musk tincture rather than ethanol that was my choice, and that is why I chose Tigerlust: Kurotora instead of Tigerlust: Tigerwood 1991 .

Now, let’s leave the past behind and talk about the present.

From the very first opening, the tiger strikes. A beautiful oud appears, accompanied by an explosion of musk. The tiger makes its presence known immediately. Then come tobacco leaf and coffee. The tobacco leaf smells very natural, fresh-green, with that dry tobacco feel, before other floral notes begin to join in.

The opening is truly a galaxy of notes.

After just a few minutes, the musk starts to take over. It is the star from beginning to end. A few hours later, you can detect slightly lemony nuances, but this time, compared to the other editions, it does not play alone in the drydown. The flowers, musk, and oud make the base more complex, powerful, and interesting.

And honestly, this changes a lot. It is an absolutely perfect improvement. What I was looking for in the older Tigerlust versions, I finally found in this one. It keeps the same DNA, but improves everything: the musk, the oud, and all the other notes.

So, my friends, this fragrance is a “++” version compared to the older Tigerlust editions. For musk lovers, I highly recommend testing it and forming your own opinion.

Excpecting more ….
I was expecting a more refined, purer version of Oud Yusuf, and above all something with much more impact given the price.
What we get here feels more like an Oud Yusuf opening, with the addition of blackcurrant. After that beautiful opening, everything fades very quickly.
I’m really disappointed, because this is too much I was expecting a mega Oud Yusuf, but it’s a total disappointment.
