The Blue Fragrance I didn’t know I need
I only bought Sedley very recently, even though I had tested and dismissed it a while back for smelling too much like a shower gel.
I remember telling myself that it does not smell as expensive as it should be. Why I would pay such high price to smell like soap or shower gel. So I didn’t think much of it and shifted my focus to other summer fragrances.
But after getting into the summer with its scorching heat, and after an immersive journey in the world of niche perfumes I found myself urging for Sedley to come into my collection and finally falling in love with it. I certainly love to wear it during the heat more than anything else I have, perhaps except for Torino 21. Both are perfect summer scents that you would love to keep smelling no matter how hot it gets.
Anyway, Sedley is very solid and loveable by everyone, even when I didn’t love it, I still didn’t hate it at all. I prefered it compared to Greenley or Galloway. I believe that among PdM freshies, Sedley is the one to get.
Regarding longevity, it cuts through those first 5/6 hours easily with a noticeable presence, afterwards it becomes a skin scent that can also be smelled easily in well ventilated surroundings.

The Confidence of a Sultan
From day one I associated this scent with that of a Sultan’s shaving cream. It is such an elevated rich fougere that will keep pleasing you with whiffs of confidence and authoritative creaminess through out its existence.
I prefer this to other traditional stronghold fougeres like TF’s Beau de jour or MFK masculine pluriel. They aren’t bad by any means but they are very classic and too safe choices.
In the realm of fougeres my next favorite would probably be Penahligon’s Sartorial but it has a downside of being a significantly weaker performer.
As ever, Nishane is good value for money between Niche perfumes, for both the uniqueness and the power of their most creations, b-612 is my most favorite Nishane after Wulong Cha

Not your typical freshie
I had Roja Oceania for around two months. I purchased it after mutiple tests on paper, the scent felt unique and impressive. Very much unlike any other summer fresh scent I came across.
After mutiple wears though, as a middle aged male, I just couldn’t bring myself to resonate with it. This perfume is marketed for unisex, but I found it to lean feminine to the extent I couldn’t bring myself to wear it anymore, or at least, don’t enjoy wearing as much as my other summer freshies.
I think the mass audience of women are going to enjoy this one much more than men would.
