I fail at rap, sorry.

The song from 1969 is very far from rap!

Hint #1: I feel sure Sherapop could guess this house if she tried.

With these prices from $1200 -$1400, maybe offer a guarantee too - that they'll smell for lifetime like Ébène Laughing

I think WolfM knows this house!

Hint #2: These high-tops (and perhaps these fragrances) would probably not smell like Ébène, but they might smell like his closest companion!

Is it Balmain, then? My favorite from that house is Ivoire (in vintage).

I think Wolf should take the next turn since he obviously knew the answer. Idea

no
Wolf knew no, even don't have perfume from this house.
You solve the riddle.

*sigh* Thanks, dude.

I'll have something tonight.

I will propose Givenchy is the house you are looking for.

...oops...I thought that "you solve the riddle" was an exhortation when it was really, "you have solved the riddle"...

Let me be perfectly clear:

Cryptic has guessed the answer, and is now responsible for creating the next puzzle.

For those of you who were wondering about the songs about Balmain, here are some answers:

Here is the song by Peter Sarstedt that was #1 on the UK pop charts in 1969.

For those who, like me, don't know much about rap, I learned via Google that Kanye West (who seems to be a very misogynist person) has several songs that mention Balmain. Other rappers who mention the house of Balmain include Jae Tips, Ace Hood, DJ Scream, A$AP Rocky, Tyga, Kid Cudi, and Theophilus London. This is evidently because expensive designer prêt-à-porter collections are very popular topics in rap songs.

"...who seems to be a very misogynist person"

Yes, he's quite a pig, SystemeD.

This perfume shares the stage name of Freda Josephine McDonald.

The answer is ELDO's Josephine Baker.

Now here is a new question.

Name the fragrance that shares its name with a city in -- but not the capital city of -- Rhode Island.

Thanks SysD! Unfortunately, I've got to go into work tonight and won't be able to check answers even I managed to come up with a puzzler. Would you mind coming up with another question? Thanks Very Happy

I will gladly substitute for you tonight, Greysolon, as long as you feel free to jump in with a puzzle at another time.

Unless that's a congratulatory flower, I'm going to need a hint to guess the fragrance behind that beautiful blossom. Shocked

Hint:

Name of fragrance = Name of flower = Color of part of flower
