Let's just kill this one off and SystemeD can post the next clue.
The answer was supposed to be "Bay Rum Special Reserve Double Strength" by Ogalalla.

Oh, I was terribly far off, Triffid! I am absolutely sure it was because of my personal feelings about those sorts of threads.

So, to move on...

This house is named for its owner, who was a French film star.
Over two dozen fragrances from this house contain the name of just one of this star's films.

SystemeD, I find those threads quite desperate. I only used it as an intro because I was thinking: if you're so clueless about how to present yourself to a prospective partner that you think a fragrance will do the trick, then that person would probably need several stiff drinks to find you acceptable. Should have stuck to a sailor theme.
Now, I noticed the clue has changed! Good. I was not having any luck with the previous.

Alain Deloin with the numerous perfume variations being based on his 1967 film "Le Samourai"?
Talk about flanker madness!
Do you want me to list the fragrance names (please, no).

Please, no!

And of course, Alain Delon and "Le Samourai" is correct.

She worked for an heiress
Whose wealth was obscene,
Lay naked on bedsheets
All snowy and clean;

She drank sparkling wine
In a city in France,
And while she was there
Found abiding romance;

She turned in a circle
And gazed at the sky,
She wore precious gems
Too expensive to buy;

She watched an old movie
That gave her a start,
When given a flower
She kept just one part;

She met a designer
Who made her a dress
That lasted forever,
Who's she - can you guess?

What are the 14 perfumes referenced in the poem and who is 'she'?

I omitted my original first verse as I thought it was too much of a giveaway, but it went thus:

This talented woman
Whose name I won't tell,
Helped others succeed
With the perfumes they sell.

That cleared it right up, Triffid! I got stuck thinking that all the fragrances were from the same house.

So, "she" is Sophia Grojsman, and here are the fragrances I think you may have referenced:

"Vanderbilt" by Gloria Vanderbilt
"Fortune" by Kosé
"Nude" by Bill Blass
"White Linen" by Estée Lauder

"Champagne/Yvresse" by YSL
"Paris" by YSL
"True Love" by Elizabeth Arden

"360 degrees Pink" by Perry Ellis
"Sun Moon Stars" by Lagerfeld
"Diamonds and Rubies" by Elizabeth Taylor

"Spellbound" by Estée Lauder
"Ex'cla-ma'tion" by Coty
"Calyx" by Prescriptives

"Christian Lacroix" by Christian Lacroix
"Eternity" by Calvin Klein

Oh dear, that's 15, so at least one of them is wrong.
And I am not certain about my choice of Lacroix, so that could be two wrong.

Spot on SystemeD. All correct!
I knew that once the 'she' was figured out, the rest would be straightforward. I was quite impressed with her portfolio. I had no idea she was the nose for so many enduring designer blockbusters.
The 'extra' you found was the Coty Exclamation one, which actually fits in quite well. I didn't want to use the word 'start' but got sick of shuffling the rhymes around.

Yes indeed, Scarletting!

"Angel Forever" by Mugler?

SystemeD, do you think she's forgotten to check the answers? You've been hanging here awhile...

Sorry guys.
That's not the answer, SystemeD.

Good try SystemeD - I thought you had it!
Hmmm, I'm thinking something by the brand A Wing and a Prayer (can't fault my logic) but nothing jumps out as the perfume name. I'll try "Epione" as she's the goddess for soothing pain (from the tattoo!). Another choice is "Dreams and Visions" by the same brand. I'm not hopeful.
Am assuming one of the perfumes called Tattoo is too obvious?
My other idea was Lalique's "Encre Noire" which of course translates to 'black ink' but doesn't acknowledge the subject of the tattoo.

None of those, but you're right that the tattoo aspect is a part of it, otherwise I'd have gone for another angel image. Smile

The celebrity that released this perfume may be from TV, but that doesn't mean she's an animal!

Halle Berry?

No, not a Halle Berry perfume.

A television personality? D: Maybe SysD will come through. I got nuthin.
