Exclamation

What is that supposed to mean?

Only joking, GothicHeart. I'll have a question up tomorrow.

Could it be Demeter's Amber?

p.s. Oops, I see that one's over.

Was it that easy? Apparently so... great job!

Ta Cryptic! Since "Herd of Green Elephants" search didn't give any feedback, I went with the obvious. Speaking of green, let's explore the colour palette a little further...

She wears a blazoned gown in mauve.
A cloak of tulle in cherry.
A brat she is, her house is banned,
although she cheers for Mary...
Nope, no idea.
I can offer up suggestions for flacons in mauve or cloaked in tulle though....or a selection of brats to choose from, including a few Disney lasses!

She's single, spoiled and fairly young.
She didn't see the Nineties.
She and her sis were born and raised
amongst luxe bras and panties.

Her sister twin is clad in white.
Their mansions match their dresses.
From their facades, in Goethe's land,
Madonna grants her blesses...

Better now?

OK, I now know who and what we're talking about but haven't yet found a perfume to fit.
Maybe someone else can follow through. I'm guessing we're talking about the horror movie American Mary, directed by the Soskia sisters who also appear in the movie as German twins wanting extreme body modification surgery.....

A master of impossible connections as always Triffid and what a taste in films! I've seen the flick, but nope. Although your suggestion matches a great deal, that's not the case.

They are sole daughters of this house.
In lidded homes they're living.
A virgin greets you on their doors,
an icon for believing.

Could it be... Truth or Dare Naked?
It matches a great deal Pandasmom, but alas, Truth or Dare Naked is neither mauve nor Goethelandish. I think that the clue has become obviously a quest for two fragrances, because if you find the first one the second will be recognized automatically. So, to get it all together, with two extra hints added:

She wears a blazoned gown in mauve.
A cloak of tulle in cherry.
A brat she is, her house is banned,
although she cheers for Mary...

They are sole daughters of this house.
In lidded homes they're living.
A virgin greets you on their doors,
an icon for believing.

Their mother's name, a holy one.
She often wears a veil.
There is an anthem praising her,
which starts with Latin hail.

She, not espoused and out of line.
Her sister, virtuous. Nearly...
Their mother saintly and alive.
Can't be any more clearly...

Well then... I'm gonna have to take another stab at it with this:

Mis(s) Behave by Vive Maria?! (and her sister would then be Almost Innocent)

GothicHeart, if that's not right, I'll be gobsmacked! LOL Laughing
10 years ago
But it is Pandasmom, it is... Your final stab tore the veil of mystery for good.

Well done, Pandasmom. I actually did a perfume search by colour to scout for likely contenders amongst the mauve-ish flacons. Thwarted! The 'cherry cloak' was not pictured on the database!

True, Triffid. And it didn't help that I had never seen these before anywhere. However, I do enjoy a good challenge.

Now I have to think of one for my fellow fragrance fanatics. Mine will never be so poetic, but it will be a puzzle nonetheless Idea

Ok, so here is my attempt at poetry:

I am red.
I am blue.
You might find me in a brew.
To some I'm human,
others a beast.
To know the truth,
look east.
I know it's gonna be a lame guess, but Annick Goutal's Mandragore Pourpre perhaps?

Pourpre is French for purple, which is the offspring of red and blue mating.

Mandragore a.k.a. mandrake is a notorious ingredient in brews, especially the ones made by ladies wearing pointed hats.

Purple originates from The Middle East, where Phoenicians were the first to make it, as far back as 1600 B.C.

Mandrake's root is rumoured to have a resemblance to the human body.

Unfortunately, the beast remains elusive...

BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, your guess is not "lame" at all. You are quite right. (and knowledgeable, but don't let it go to your head. lol Razz ) Yes, the mandrake is associated with witchcraft, although somewhat unfairly so, since it was used as part of folk medicine by as you said Middle Eastern as well as Near Eastern people (ie:Israelites) millenia ago.

The only thing you left out was that the "drake" part of mandrake (mandragore/mandragora(s)[Latin/Greek]) is a reference to the root's resemblance to a dragon to some ancients. Hence the beast part.

And just like that, it's your turn again. Wink

See? This is exactly why I shall never let it go to my head... Because the very first thing that I should have thought, eluded me!

Some say they're either knights or kings,
and serve a fallen angel.
'73 they came to life,
but they smell as new.
They've fondly touched millions of lips,
but parents thought they're danger.
An onyx lad, a pearly lass,
their kids are just these two.
Well several of your riddles have eluded me, so it's only fair. Glad to have slightly stumped you, if only with a mere trifle.

OH, I know what you're hinting at. They are references to:

KISS him & KISS her, (by KISS Cosmetics) Are they not?

I've actually tested them both- pretty good for the money if I recall.
Have you sniffed them by any chance?
GothicHeart, hobbling slightly from being stumped by a purple (man)dragon and mumbling "...should've sniffed'em... see?... no sniff, no write... no good...", retreats quietly back in the shadows... Four kinda overpainted guys start singing: "You were made for guessing them baby... They were made to be gueesed by you..."

Hahaha luv your flair for the dramatic. You have the makings of a thespian my friend. You're not secretly a classically trained ac-tor, are you GothicHeart? lol Smile

You gave it away with the 1973 part. It would've taken me considerably longer w/o that detail. Being a music buff, it didn't take me too long to put the pieces together. Cool
