Thought id make a thread as Iv been searching high and low for advice.
Trying to find something masculine and some what rugid.
my point of referance is something alike Farenheit or Hugo Boss just different.

I don't know Hugo Boss. But if you like Fahrenheit, you may like the violet leaf note, which is quite prominent.
You may try 
Chamade Homme - don't know if it is still available. It is overall softer than Fahrenheit. Great scent, just check out the reviews.
I also recommend you try 
Cuir Pleine Fleur . It starts out floral with a prominent violet leaf note. But don't be mislead by this soft start, in the drydown it becomes a very leathery leather scent with a somewhat rugged touch. Brilliant perfumery!
