New to Perfumes - Looking for Recs!

I recently was gifted a set of 11 sample scents by Henry Rose, and I hadn't ever tried perfume [or any kind of scent] at all. Found out I really enjoyed it, but wanted a scent that was more interesting? I liked the smokier, spicier scents, but I also enjoyed Smyth [the apple was very appealing]. I'm just looking for some tried and true scents, maybe a tad bit unusual or unconventional to shake things up. Very excited to begin a collection

The best place to start for tried and true would probably be the top rated perfumes on this site. At least from a male perspective, I've found the top 25 or so unisex+male fragrances at least worth a try, even if they didn't end up being my absolute favorites.
