I never knew how much I would love rose fragrances! I would love to try more lovely choices, but these are the three, so far, that I love...Tauer, Une Rose Chypree. Armani Prive, Rose d"Arabie, and a lovely Divine fragrance.L' Inspiratrice. I am thrilled to have these wonderful rose fragrances. my next dream is to try, Rose Barbare, Guerlain....as it sounds just fabulous!

"Noir de Noir"

This one has been growing on me, no pun intended.

I don't own it but I have a sample and simply adore this one:

"Rosae Mundi" by Profumum

My "Noir de Noir" is a decant, and once I run out I'll be wanting to purchase a full bottle of something in the floriental rose realm.

Can anyone recommend some rose frags similar to Noir de Noir?

You could try "Portrait of a Lady" by Frederic Malle. It has a somewhat similar feel to it. PoaL is one of my favourite rose scents together with Noir de Noir.

I also love these roses:

"Moment de Bonheur" Yves Rocher
"Lyric Woman" Amouage
"Une Rose" Frederic Malle
"La fille de Berlin" Serge Lutens
"Lipstick Rose" Frederic Malle

I prefer rose as a backup note not predominant but I have gotten to really enjoy Chopard's "Madness"

Lah2o,
Thank you! I will be checking those out.

Let me ask you (and anyone else who knows "Noir de Noir"): if you could change one thing about it, what would that be?

I can't quite put my finger on why I only like (rather than love) it.

I'm about to sniff through my collection of rose FBs and samples to answer this question for myself, but so far my favorite is FM's Une Rose, followed by in some order: KM's Mogador, Fragonard's Rose de Mai, Sonoma Scent Studio's Velvet Rose, Serge Lutens' La fille de Berlin and Le Labo's Rose 31.

Rose et Noir, Miller Harris. Just been testing this one. I quite like this as a darker rose. I might obtain a proper sample and dirty it up a bit with a smoky note to see what happens. I rarely wear rose perfumes because they are often a bit fluffy bunny on my skin but this darker one is more savoury than sweet. Only had a spray tester, so need to try again. That is surely a good sign.

Hi! Most of my roses don`t take the solifloral direction. I really enjoy the spiced rose theme in Sand Aoud by Mancera or the incens-ey rose in Lutens Santal Majuscule. I also detect a Taíf-like powdery rose in Nuit de Longchamp, Lubin, complemented by strong aldehydes. Aromatics Elixir also contains a nice, powdery rose. My current favourite is vintage Missoni by Missoni that goes in a musky-fruity slightly indolic direction and very spicy. Paestum Rose by Eau d'Italie is on my whish list. There`s also an interesting old-fashioned rose in the Perris line.

I'm quite sensitive to rose. Many rose notes are too shrill for me, others smell unbearably sythnetic.
My one and only rose-centric fragrance is "La Fille de Berlin", which is almost a soliflore for a plush red rose in the evening.
I also enjoy some ouds that feature rose, such as "City Love", but only certain rose notes work for me in this way, otherwise they piece like glass through the oud.
I also love "Incense rosé" by Tauer, but often I have to avoid the top notes when spraying lest they become too much.

My favourite roses in no particular order are Creed Windsor - delicate, clean and a little mentholated which gives it a masculine feel, plain rose oil - very fragrant and inexpensive, and finally Amouage Ayoon al Maha - this is natural and the most beautiful shimmering rose and oud combination ever, synthetic rose and oud just don't come close after smelling this beauty.
