Bortnikoff Sayat nova old generation

i recently picked up a old generation wood cap Sayat nova and it is way more funky than the new generation. Is it supposed to be like this?

I have the same bottle (bought it 3 years ago iirc), and it smells very boozy and apricot-fruity with just a bit of funky oud in the base. Haven't tried the new cap version (if it is different) but in my experience shouldn't be too funky.

are the apricots supposed to smell slightly moldy in a way?

Not to me but I've heard it described as such by others.
