Hidden-in-plain sight samples 2

Okay so I'm very new to perfumes etc., but I've been hating going around to perfume counters trying samples. It just gets confusing when there's so many around but mainly I don't like dealing with the salespeople. Since I've been reading online that free samples aren't really given away anymore, I had resigned myself to the fact that if I want to sniff different perfumes alone I'll have to just order a bunch of samples online.

But!

Today I was sitting around at the library, and since I already had books I picked up a magazine.

And!

It had perfume samples in it!

I guess I've always known that, but since I never read magazines, it totally escaped my realm of experience. I'm sure many other people use this as a way to sample current perfumes, and the samples are probably only the current trendy ones, and there's no way it smells as accurate as from the bottle, buuuut it was exciting to me to get to go down the whole row of Harpers Bazaar and smell several in each, in peace and quiet where I could really sit and smell them.

Anyways, hope this post isn't out of place here, I just wanted to share the experience Smile

The best solution to try out common enough fragrances is to start slow and get used to being nagged by salespeople and very politely telling them to fuck off(that you're just having a look and you'll call if you need anything).
They're there to sell stuff but they mostly understand that some people just want to try things at their own pace.

Plus in magazines you almost always find new fragrances, and you won't ever find classic and already well known fragrances like N°5 or Shalimar or what have you.

Yeah, magazine samples are definitely a limited range, but libraries are so peaceful Very Happy
