...As far as I can gather, it's the airmail parcels that are the most affected. I am not sure if land, rail delivery will be affected as well. The member who had her perfume destroyed, was posting it to another member in the U.S. The British Post Office sent her a letter, and said her parcel contained fragrance, which is illegal to send, and that they have the right to destroy, or dispose of the perfume. (Which they did). This law has been enforced in January...and it looks like quite a few ebay sellers (U.K. based) have had their products either returned to them, without leaving the country, or destroyed. ...There is a very good discussion going on, over in Fragrantica, on the general discussion forum, titled : New UK postal rules. No fragrances are allowed to be posted anymore from the U.K. In fact, one member had her perfume destroyed, that she was sending on a swap. And, some of the online stores have already started to stop posting out of the U.K. Just thought it might be good if we started a thread here, so we can keep up with all the new developments. If you are planning on posting any perfume for swaps etc., from the U.k,, don't, as they scan everything now, and, it will be destroyed.

...I don't have a problem with mine, as don't have many perfumes. They are in the bedroom, so have mine ALL in there original boxes, and I have Two lovely big boxes I store them in, in my wardrobe. I have smaller boxes for my samples. Now the winter is here, my bedroom is cold, as don't like heating in the bedroom), so have the ones I wear often on my dressing table. I wouldn't have the room for a huge collection anyway, as live in a small Apt. :wink:

...Sometimes I think it's just common sense. For example.. If I visit someone with a newborn baby, I would never wear fragrance. If visiting someone in Hospital, I don't wear a heavy scent. I do work several months of the year, in a Hotel, where I reside while working), so when I decide to wear one of my heavy hitters, I use the stairs in the morning, not the lift, until the scent settles a bit. I have my own space where I work, don't share with co workers, so more or less please myself on that score. I love my perfumes, and will always wear them, but with common sense. :)

...Pipette has explained this perfectly! The Projection is how much the perfume radiates from the skin, and the sillage leaves a trail. I suppose, in reality, without projection, there can't be a perfumed trail, as the scent has not projected, or strong enough to leave a scented trail. So, it may be how the person explains his or her thoughts on a certain perfume. Another thought...Projection may be a short, strong burst of radiating scent, where as the Sillage is a much more lasting impression.

...Just found the Floris site .... Oh my ... those damn candles! Wish I could have them all .... 40 GBP is quite expensive ... and, the shipping here is 30 GBP. I could get a friend to bring me one..but they are a luxury! Who has tried this one? This is my choice. :wink:

I suppose that Gentleman in the fragrance shop knew what he was talking about, coming from Saudi Arabia.But, these things sometimes come in waves of popularity...popular for a few months, then all these new fragrances just cash in on the craze. Will let you know what I think of Oud, when I get the samples!

...The English spelling is a dead giveaway. And, the prices are quite hefty. I would rather save for the real thing, than pay a few hundred for something that is, to say the least, iffy. I could never afford one of those original bags, but hate the look of the plastic ones. These ones would have to be seen, and held to really know. :wink:

...Eurochic:I got the big 200ml bottle of "Beige" and now I'm so bored with it. I wish they would sell smaller bottles of the Les Exclusifs line.I have to say also that one day a perfume may smell really nice on me, and the next day it may smell completely off. Does anyone know when is the best timing to try out a new perfume (talking about hormonal fluctuations here, sorry guys). I got the 75ml. Coromandel, mainly because I couldn't afford the bigger one! Just store your Beige away, and you will go back to it, it's too damn beautiful to ignore for long! It's normal to have off days, for fragrances etc. (especially for the ladies) . I think being bored with a fragrance is O.K, as you will come back to it. But when you start to really dislike it, that's when the love affair with the scent is over!
