The manufactures of these fragrances are aware of the general acceptance of fresh or clean scents currently. The public gets pushed towards purchasing these product through commercials and advertisement. The fresh and clean scents are used in everything from window cleaners to fabric softeners. The manufactures have made it a priority to include fresh and clean as part of the fragrances structure. Stick sweet and fruity, is yet another fragrance note widely desired and accepted by the American customer. You could probably profile the same customer 30 years earlier and find woods and spices to be the culprit.Don't discount all Americans as craving the fresh and clean only scents. Many more have a great appreciation of the finer things in the fragrance world. They may have also grown-up on scent structures of the past and admire them. You know how our sense of smell can play games with us making memories that cannot be separated from the smells associated with them.

...MNQ:I completely agree - and love the fact that perfumes missing from the database usually appear within a few days (compare that to over a year on another site)At the point that I joined Parfumo, I had a list of 44 fragrances that I either sampled or owned, that were not on another forum's fragrance directory. Parfumo's directory was nearly complete and it was only missing 9 of those 44.Thanks again to the people behind Parfumo for creating such a complete experience.

...I find that the wall mounted cabinet I store my fragrances in is a perfect solution. It is only 4.5 inches deep. The shallow depth allows me to display fragrances, two deep at times, but I can see them all. I tend to colorize them (organize by bottle color and or style) which makes for a nice presentation. I find that my rotation habits are better if I don't cluster fragrances by maker.

...I agree, AromiErotici. There are elements here at Parfumo that do not exist on other sites. The primary one being the quality of conversations and posts. I feel that this is a bit more of an adult atmosphere but still fun, not stuffy.The fragrance directory is great with many more ways to contribute information about fragrance without necessarily writing a review to express your opinions.Last but not least, the people behind the scenes here at Parfumo are helpful, not condescending and gracious.I wish Parfumo much success with its international edition. I'm glad to be here.

Just because there's a "trend" for going back to basics- doesn't necessarily mean everyone should do that. I have male friends who quite openly wear fragrances from Mariah Carey's lolliepop Bling collection and that works well for them. More power to them I say.Agreed.

...My first fragrance was at 15 when I purchased Grey Flannel by Geoffrey Beene, I loved that scent. I moved on to several horrible fragrances from there, until in 1978, I purchased Lagerfeld by Karl Lagerfeld. I enjoyed many other great designer fragrances after this. Too bad the original formulas don't exist today for many of them.The only prize I own from the past is an original bottle of Lagerfeld. It's quite fun to wear from time to time because of the positive responses I get from people. It's always interesting to see the expression on peoples faces when you tell them you're wearing a 34 year old fragrance. I enjoy the pleasant memories of my late teen years Lagerfeld brings me.

...I didn't find anything in your collection CyberToy1 that was terribly feminine. Well, unless I missed the Charlie. I think everything you have in your collection is acceptable for either men or women.I agree with Cooper20 and say that you should wear what your like and are comfortable with. I think that everyone has the sense to know whether something is right for them or not. Both sexes have this ability.
