Best clove cigarette perfume

... Recently I bought Dunhill Edition. It reminded me a lot of clove cigarettes. Enough to where I didn’t care for it on me. It’s a great fragrance though.

What's the fragrance that got you into this hobby?
FloVer

... For me it was "Ôud Bouquet | Lancôme". I smelt it at Barcelona airport and was immediately intoxicated. It smelled so different from any of the (designer) fragrances I had tried before and so well-blended. It made me realise that there's much more interesting perfume out there than what I knew about till then. What I like about perfume is that for me it's a way to express myself and feel pretty with relatively little effort. Doing that with clothes makes me much more frustrated because you don't just need to find an item that you like, but then it also needs to fit well (which it hardly ever does!). Finding perfumes that I like and that also wear well on skin is much easier it seems :)

Parfumo Community
... Hello everyone, I am Sandra from Paris. I created an account on Parfumo years ago and I didn’t even remember I had. I am getting more active here as I used to be quite active on another website that has decreased drastically in quality recently. So far I am really happy about the site. I have been in that scented hobby for the last 4-5 years. I own about 120-150 fragrances but I am decluttering as I have realised that I own many fragrances that I don’t use. Since getting my bottle of "Féminité du Bois (Eau de Parfum) | Shiseido" I feel more satiated and I don’t feel the need to own that many bottle. My favourite houses are Serge Lutens and Guerlain.

... Elijahrb67 SandraParis My love for fragrance was inspired by my mum. I remember when I was a kid, she wore "Opium (1977) (Parfum) | Yves Saint Laurent" , "N°5 (Eau de Parfum) | Chanel" , "Jazz (1988) (Eau de Toilette) | Yves Saint Laurent" and "Rive Gauche (1970) (Eau de Toilette) | Yves Saint Laurent" . So I grew up surrounded by those scents. I remember as a kid admiring my mother's scents and even sneaking to spray some of them. But my mother was not a huge collector like me My mother's tastes I have deeply influenced my current tastes: I wear men's fragrances and I love scents like Opium. I got my husband and my daughter into fragrance. My husband who was a one-fragrance man before meeting me has probably more than 6 and wear some of mine. He wears "Dior Homme Intense (2011) | Dior" , "Terre d'Hermès (Parfum) | Hermès" , "24 Rue de L'Université | Yves Saint Laurent" , "6 Place Saint Sulpice | Yves Saint Laurent" , "Rouge Hermès (Eau de Toilette) | Hermès" , "Eau de Rhubarbe Écarlate | Hermès" , "Cuir Cuba Intense | Nicolaï / Parfums de Nicolaï" , "Habit Rouge Rouge Privé | Guerlain" . He is not into niche though My daughter is into fragrances too. She is 9 yo. I don't allow her wear any ( except exceptionally) as she is still young and fragrance is known to be a huge endocrine disruptor. But she has her own collection of miniature fragrances. She adores "Tilia | Marc-Antoine Barrois" . And she sometimes spray a bit in her bedroom. She loves that scent so much, it is funny. It’s nice to hear you come from a fragrant family as well! I think it’s quite common for people to influence their partners when it comes to fragrance, I have seen this happen many times. Also very cool that your daughter is beginning to show interest! I’m sure she will appreciate that as she grows! Similarly to you, my fragrance preferences were heavily influenced by a family member who wore "Opium (1977) (Parfum) | Yves Saint Laurent" and "N°5 (Parfum) | Chanel". Even still they are two of my favorite fragrances ever. My daughter is such a bad influence though ! She pushes me to go to fragrance shops and spend more. She attends fragrance events with me too. I attended the Paris Perfume Week with her last year. She loved It. I attended the event this year without her and she was so mad at me! Happy to know you were too influenced by "Opium (1977) (Parfum) | Yves Saint Laurent" too. There is some so special and hypnotic about this fragrance. I got a vintage EDT not long ago. When I wear it, I feel so empowered, confident.

Rose and Oud

... I am not a huge fan of Rose Oud scents. I used to own "Oud Nude | Guerlain" (too synthetic to my nose) and "Oud Satin Mood (Eau de Parfum) | Maison Francis Kurkdjian" (too sweet and sticky). I sold both. I got both when I started my fragrance journey and I guess my tastes have evolved a lot since. However I own "Mohur (Eau de Parfum) | Neela Vermeire Créations" . It is so beautiful and delicate. The Oud here serves more as a fixative in my opinion as you can hardly smell it.

... I'm slowly turning my wife into a fraghead. Her signature scent used to be "J'adore (Eau de Parfum) | Dior" when I met her, I got her into "Delina (Eau de Parfum) | Parfums de Marly" and "Baccarat Rouge 540 (Eau de Parfum) | Maison Francis Kurkdjian" when I first started getting into niche. Now she mostly wears "À la Rose (Eau de Parfum) | Maison Francis Kurkdjian", "Good Girl Gone Bad (Perfume) | Kilian", "Honour Woman (Eau de Parfum) | Amouage", and "Narcotic V. / Narcotic Venus (Extrait de Parfum) | Nasomatto". Dad's been wearing "Eternity for Men (Eau de Toilette) | Calvin Klein" since the 90s, not sure what my mom wears, it's probably a light body mist instead of an actual perfume, since I rarely actually smell it. FIL wears "Paco Rabanne pour Homme (Eau de Toilette) | Rabanne", has been since the 80s, but his nephews get him interesting Arabic stuff sometimes, I saw "Eternal Oud | Lattafa Pride" in his bedroom last time I was there, though I haven't yet smelled it on him. MIL wears "Crystal Noir (Eau de Parfum) | Versace". BIL has good taste, if a bit basic: "Layton | Parfums de Marly", "Aventus | Creed", "Sauvage Elixir | Dior". My aunt is a bit of a fraghead too but she only gets one signature scent at a time and finishes the whole bottle. She's on "Dioriviera | Dior" at the moment, she really liked "Jubilation 25 Woman (Eau de Parfum) | Amouage" when she tried it, might be getting that for her as a Christmas gift.

... I went to a cruelty free fragrance expo and ran into a fragrance that had just that note listed in it and smelled just like them. I came so close to buying it but I'm trying to stay under a hundred colognes so I didn't buy it. Unfortunately they don't list it on their website but I am sure they have PRECISELY what you are looking for. They sell samples and I believe the fragrance name was Kirn but as far as I know they only have one clove fragrance. So funny you asked for something I actually saw for the first time this last weekend. https://www.firnhandcrafted.co. ..

Perfume Recommendations
... Stardust23 Ninamariah I'm a woman but I want to answer. I love Amouage, I'm totally crazy about them and I love and have many from men's collection (and I'm sure that you know already that there are many perfumes in women's collection that are absolutely unisex). Anyway I'm not going to tell you my favourites on me but ON MY HUSBAND'S SKIN and he's started secretly visiting my bottles because he smells irresistible when wearing them. These ones are so amazingly sexy on men: "Overture Man | Amouage" "Gold Man | Amouage" "Opus XV - King Blue | Amouage" "Jubilation 40 | Amouage" "Opus XIV - Royal Tobacco | Amouage" "Interlude Black Iris | Amouage" "Myths Man | Amouage" and all of you who are in hot climates I highly recommend to try "Honour Woman (Eau de Parfum) | Amouage" or "Honour 43 | Amouage" because that leathery base in them bushes through on mens' skin and it's amazingly attractive. If I have to say one that I definitely don't like on him is "Reflection Man | Amouage" and "Reflection 45 | Amouage" . @Ninamariah , what are you liking about "Overture Man | Amouage" ? Im still new in relative terms to this journey and I wear this occasionally. With each wear Im discovering something that I can’t quite describe that’s appealing so although I would rate the scent very low at this moment , I have this feeling that I will one day very much enjoy it. @Stardust23 It’s very complex scent and if you haven’t been wearing challenging ones it takes time to understand it and fully appreciate it. So I would recommend to continue wearing it from time to time and some day you will recognize that you love it a lot. Of course it doesn’t happen every time but I have blind bought almost all my Amouages and in the end I love them all. Overture Man need a bit cool weather so it may never work in hot climates and even if I’m an oversprayer Overture Man only needs 2-4 sprays.

... Dear Cocopath My collection has for a my own pleasure since it is more of personal scent a not a great projecting Oud Nude from Guerlain. For a day out I normally use Scherzo from Miller Harris, I love the floral notes and the clean and soft Oud this one has. It is also a bit sweet and very feminine. For a night out or a special occasion I love Epic Woman from Amouage. This is a complex and opulent perfume that commands a room. (I love it so much that I even wear it to work on days that the office will be a bit more empty :) I tried Oud Satin Mood but the rose was too dusty and on my skin became too indolic. I will explore the Armani you mentioned since my bottle of Scherzo is almost empty. Thank you Ana PS: From Armani Privé I have my beautiful Magenta Tanzanite (sweet tobacco, cardamom and ginger)

Scents of the Month: September

|
Perfumes & Brands
... Apicius The change of seasons is one of the benefits that all people can enjoy who live outside the equatorial regions. Every season is beautiful and has its own mood – and those phases of the year when seasons actually are about to change are especially welcome as they prevent us from boredom. September is one of those months that contain such a transition – from summer to fall if you live in the northern hemisphere. Perfumes people wear can express lots of things – and certainly there is a link to weather and seasonal moods. I have put together some perfumes for you that could be recommended as September fragrances. They reflect the spirit of change as well as the beginning melancholy that you might experience when summer is about to go (apologies to the readers in the southern hemisphere!). When September arrives – and we have luck with the weather - summer comes to a glorious end. Heat and sun have bred fruits and crops, and if they are not looked after, they might fall into decay. Near my hometown, the winegrowers become busy: they have to organize their harvest and keep the wine tourists out of their way! Soon, the new wine will be ready: pale and yeasty, with the harmless taste of juice and the dangerous impact of fully matured wine. Federweisser cannot be stored, so it is one of the very few seasonal and also regional drinks. It is served with a piece of onion quiche, and the robustness of this food already points at colder seasons to come. It is hard to describe the taste of this beverage – but for a late September trip to the valleys of Mosel, Rhein or Ahr, and a glass of Federweisser in one of those ancient wine villages, Guerlain's "Jicky" should be a good companion. Why? The experience of yeast and civet have one thing in common – their relationship to the concept of fertility. And civet in a perfume is just as strange as yeast in a beverage, being detectable as such. In September, many of the German wine regions become populated, not only because of the Federweisser – but also because of the weather. It is that beginning Indian summer air which is so clear that all landscape's colors become more expressive. A walk through the vineyards on the beautiful hills and mountains is a special joy. Summer's heat and dust are gone, and visibility is abnormally good. If you have good eyes, you may count the trees on a remote hill on the other side of the valley. September is the time to climb mountains (or use the chairlift) to have fantastic views of 100 kilometers and beyond. This clearness of the air, the expressive clarity and distinctness of all surrounding scenery demand an iridescent perfume, one that reflects this late summer mood. "Aventure" by Il Profvmo is my September favorite. It has a vague green note, but most of all, it contains the idea of clear and warm air. It is not as expressive as the scents of summer – it is a somewhat detached, slightly shaded freshness, welcome at any warm day, but not so much during a heat wave. The richness of ripe fruits, picked from ones own garden and preserved in home-made jams, marmalade and compote: in September you open the first pot of it in your kitchen. From now on, concentrated fruitiness should be your experience rather than freshly picked berries. That apricot jam feeling is most perfectly expressed by Social Creature's "Frankfurt Kitchen": it has that dried fruit note that osmanthus flower is said to evoke. September is also the time of the “Wies'n” - the Munich Oktoberfest. Everybody hopes for that magical Wies'n weather – which is blue sky with maybe a few fluffy clouds. People dress up in traditional Bavarian gowns and leather breeches, happy to enjoy a few strong beers in one of that marquees. You need not get drunk there – but a walk over the Wies'n is a must. On one of those occasions, I very much enjoyed Hermes' "Eau de Pamplemousse Rose". It is a fragrance of seasonal transition: the beautiful pink grapefruit top note is refreshing enough to make a decent summer's fragrance, but behind that, there is the earthiness and woodiness of Terre d'Hermès. The grapefruit note is so beautiful – but it will be gone like summer very soon. And just like summer, you cannot get it back – any attempt to reapply this fragrance will only result in strengthening the earthy base note! Enjoy the benefits of September – be aware and attentive of its moods and scents and choose your own September perfume! Looking for someone who has tried ScentXme by Kierin- grapefruit, passion fruit, boozy. Have you?

Tropical fruity gourmands

... jettodesu I love notes of passionfruit, pineapple, mango, especially when the rest of the notes also have that tropical vibe. Seems perfect for summer, right? What are your favorite tropical fruity and/or gourmand fragrances? Personally I think Bath and Body Works has some of the best fragrances in this category, it seems like very few designer labels can get this genre right. A few of my favorites: "Costa Rica Pink Pineapple Sunrise / Pink Pineapple Sunrise | Bath & Body Works" "Golden Mango Lagoon | Bath & Body Works" "Tropidelic (Eau de Parfum) | Bath & Body Works" I've heard good things about ScentXme by Kierin but I'm looking for feedback from others who have tried it- have you? It's the only passion fruit, grapefruit, boozy fragrance that I've heard rave reviews about.

If you had to pick your top/#1 favorite fall gourmand, what would it be? To me "Hazelnut L'Hun | Urban Outfitters" was even better than "Replica - By the Fireplace | Maison Margiela" (especially considering how much hype that one has)! Have you tried ScentXone by Kierin or the fruity boozy gourmand ScentXme by Kierin?
