... I’ve been into fragrances since I was about four or five, playing with my grandma’s bottles of Opium and Poison. But I got serious about this hobby around six years ago. I often hear people say that the more they smell and collect, the pickier they become, but for me it’s the opposite. I’ve actually become less picky. My horizons have broadened, and I now enjoy more fragrance families. I used to dislike vintage profiles, now I love them. I couldn’t stand strong rose before, now I seek it out. I like everything, which honestly feels like a bit of a problem. I’ve grown more accepting of weird compositions and scents that once felt unwearable. I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing, but it’s definitely overwhelming.

... "Attaquer Le Soleil - Marquis de Sade | Etat Libre d'Orange" ...I find it calming and cozy, nothing scandalous despite the name. Just perfect. And "The Ghost in the Shell | Etat Libre d'Orange". It’s probably my second favorite: unique clean musk, freshly washed, yet warm and comforting.

How much do opinions of influencers mean to you?

... I have maybe two or three influencers whose opinions I actually trust. The kind I could blind buy their favorites and know I won’t be disappointed. The rest? Nope. Their tastes don’t align with mine, and I honestly don’t care what they think. Luca Turin is one of those. Some of his statements and descriptions are bizarre and they tell me absolutely nothing. He compared Diorella to the smell of Vietnamese salad. Dude… which salad? What dressing? Be specific or don’t bother. And then he said one of the Lush fragrances was better than vintage Caron Tabac Blond. I sincerely hope he got a big fat check to say that, because no way. Nothing is better than vintage Tabac Blond. Certainly not a Lush fragrance. They’ve got some good ones, sure, but comparing them to a Mona Lisa-level masterpiece? Come on. So yeah, I don’t really vibe with him. If he says Champs-Élysées is the worst, that probably means it’s secretly the best and I should buy it immediately!!!

Honestly, they just smell like nothing to me. Maybe watery paper with a vague sweetness if I really focus. I guess I’m not picking up whatever magical aura everyone else is raving about. And "Santal 33 (Eau de Parfum) | Le Labo". Sorry, but that’s straight-up dill pickles.

... Raluko111 Got a new set of Nobile samples and searching for the wonders like Malia. Was really surprised that the set is pretty average with no outstanding scents. Perhaps they took the route of mass-appealing scents to introduce their brand. Have you tried "Rudis | Nobile 1942"? I thought it was really interesting. "Café Chantant (Eau de Parfum) | Nobile 1942" is great, too. Maybe because it reminds me of "Cuir Béluga (Eau de Parfum) | Guerlain", but it’s still very pleasant...

... I think you need to get your hands on "Queening | Mind Games" and "Love-O-Matic | Room 1015". They both have sweet gourmand elements blended with fresh laundry notes. Clean and soapy, they probably won’t turn into anything sweaty or heavy. Queening is a sweet, airy vanilla, while Love-O-Matic leans more toward fresh laundry with playful hints of bubblegum.

... @TommieBootje I love that you have a shelf named "For When I Want to Seem Friendly"! 😁 Are you not friendly?? Or just auditioning for the title of "Most Approachable Perfume Enthusiast"? The devil in disguise: something tells me you like to layer "Bat (2020) | Zoologist" and "Angel's Dust | Francesca Bianchi"... Sparkly, friendly on the outside, but secretly grumpy on the inside! 🤭 ...So many of the bottles are blue (okay, sorry, it’s not the blue bottle, didn’t catch the note!) plus a bunch of classics. Mixed together, they totally give me "La Fin du Monde | Etat Libre d'Orange" vibes (the end of the world), haha! 😉 And all those blue bottles… they just give me the blues! 😝
