... Lol this is such a fun discussion! I'll go with "Valaya (Eau de Parfum) | Parfums de Marly"; it's been my most-complimented scent so with some luck, maybe the killer will get distracted and put a hold on their killing shenanigans to tell me i smell good.

... It could be that eos and body fantasies present their raspberry note in a similar manner, while good chemistry does it differently. Perfumers haven't been able to extract viable essential oil from actual raspberries, so the raspberry we smell in fragrances is synthetic - created in a lab. Depending on interpretation and recreation methods, different brands and perfumers will produce different raspberry notes / accords. On top of that, pink sweet pea fantasy and pomegranate raspberry both contain tart notes (grapefruit, passionfruit, rhubarb jam); it could be that you don't like how these interact with raspberry!

Iconic and popular scents i thought i'd love, but ended up hating: "Angel (Eau de Parfum) | Mugler" was unexpectedly earthy "Khamrah / خمرة | Lattafa" was too heavy and cloying for me (especially since it's summer all year here!!) "Musk Bouquet | 27 | Kayali", not iconic nor popular but noteworthy mention because it was such an indolic nightmare

... Viridescent Obsession! It scared the hell out of me, but I loved it. I watched that too! I think the sound design contributed so much to the eerie atmosphere. It wasn't outright terrifying, but it had me on edge even afterwards.

How many sprays do you normally wear?

... DRKSHDW I love how everyone is so conservative here!! No one is doing 50 sprays - minimum - like the TikTok influencers! I’m actually shocked. 😂 Just kidding. I used to overspray when I first started my fragrance journey, but that quickly causes nose blindness. So, if I’m testing something, I usually do 1–2 sprays so I can catch more nuances. For regular wear, I’d say 5–6 sprays is pretty normal for me. I might go crazy with body mists and do 10 sprays. 😂 I’ll also sometimes layer 5 sprays of one fragrance with 2 sprays of another, or do lotion + body mist + perfume. That’s a lot, but I do it occasionally. Oh, and I actually like dabbers, including dabber sample vials (unpopular opinion, I know! 😂)... I tend to smell the scent more clearly that way and don’t go nose-blind as quickly. Lol for real, overspraying is so normalised on tiktok; i saw someone who actually did ~60 sprays! Even if creators are playing it up for engagement, i feel like it's going to influence viewers into thinking that's what they should be doing. RIP to those stuck in enclosed spaces with them 😕

Chazzer As someone who likes to experiment layering is VERY fun for me even if I get an unsavory result, I find that cheapies are the ones to layer more to be honest, the fragrances will uplift each other and it can boost longevity sometimes, also a great way to use up a perfume that you don't reach for as much, since you're altering the scent to more your liking. More expensive ones are obviously curated with a lot more precision for the price point/quality of the ingredients, not to say they cannot be layered! endless possibilities! I completely understand why someone wont want to layer, if you don't know it'll take time to learn what combos you like and sometimes we don't have the time to be doing that with the risk of hating the combination when you've got work to do and places to be, as well as the fact that each perfume on its own is an art piece.... Same here! I find layering such a fun, experimental process. Like you, I take into consideration how complex the fragrances are and if something is already beautifully crafted and complex enough on its own, i'm less likely to layer it.

... @Gourmandgrl Agreed! Lait concentré was basically hyperrealistic condensed milk; i can understand why it's a bit much for some people since it's so milky and cloyingly sweet, but i personally loved it heh. I wouldn't really wear it out though, it feels more like a cozy stay-home scent. I've been meaning to try tihota, escapade gourmande, and crema di latte. Excited to see them in your list of recs! 💕

... Hi, always lovely to meet a fellow gourmand girly! Based on some of these notes, here are the most edible scents i'd recommend: "Crumb Couture | Snif" (croissant, vanilla) "Vanilla Cake | Montale" (milk, caramel, vanilla) / "Vanille Absolu | Montale" (vanilla, cinnamon) "Casamorati - Lira (Eau de Parfum) | XerJoff" (citrus, vanilla, caramel - likened to lemon cake often) "Cheirosa '71 | Sol de Janeiro" (vanilla, caramel, macadamia, white chocolate, coconut blossom - sooo yummy, only thing is that it lacks duration) "Le Gourmand | Jousset Parfums" (toast, butter, cookie dough, chocolate, hazelnut - nutella in perfume form) "Accident à la Vanille - Crème de la Berry | Jousset Parfums" (strawberry, vanilla, whipped cream, cheesecake - very sweet and delicious) "Bonbon (Eau de Parfum) | Viktor & Rolf" (peach, citrus, caramel - has a nice, lightly woody drydown) "Sweet Tooth (Eau de Parfum) | Sabrina Carpenter" (chocolate marshmallow, coconut milk, vanilla, cream - fluffier and lighter gourmand compared to those above) "Eilish (Eau de Parfum) | Billie Eilish" (sugar, berries, vanilla, cocoa) If you're open to indie brands, my fav so far has been black hearted tart! In particular, i love their strawberry blonde (croissant, strawberry preserves) and paris is burning (creme brulee). Very sweet and wonderfully tasty scents, i haven't found designer or niche gourmands that i love quite as much so far tbh
