Should I Say Goodbye to Tom Ford?

... A few to possibly try: Ebene Fume is sexy, deep, and dark. I’d wear it if it didn’t give me a headache. Tobacco Vanille If you want to smell like a really nice Christmas candle. I wore it to holiday parties. Lost Cherry if you want to smell like…a cherry. Oud Wood is a really well balanced “Western-style” Oud, but Carved Oud by Thameen is nicer and lasts longer.

Politically incorrect fragrance notes?

... Tessa Oriens, in Latin, means the place where the sun rises. Occidens, in Latin, means the place where the sun sets . In France we use the word "midi" for South. Nobody is offended. The "oriental" when referring to perfumes was meant to underline the exotic quality. I like it because it suggests the richness of a scent. Why to politicize a word used by perfumers for a century and apply "correctness" to please ? Is it correct? It’s not about the origin, it’s about the impact. Various offensive n-words also have a Latin root, and it doesn’t make them any less vile. The “o-word” has been used a pejorative about Asians, and most don’t like it. Is it so hard not to use it?

What size of bottle do you prefer?

... I tell people to buy the smallest size they can. And I always intend to do this. And then I fall in love with a fragrance and buy 100ml because I’m sure I’ll use it all. It’s a sickness!

... Marie Salamagne at Fermenich has done some lovely work. Atelier des Ors Rouge Saray and Maison Margiela By the Fireplace are two of my favorite vanillas. She has nosed a lot of fragrances from Guerlain Mandarin Basilic to Black Opium.

LOOKING FOR: like Aventus, but more fruity and projecting!

... GreMuser I smelled this perfume around, I was very far from this group of people, and even though I was far away this perfume could be smelled very clearly. It's not easy to describe it and a few days have passed, but right away it gave me the impression of being in the same DNA as Creed Aventus but like 10 times more "juicy", with a predominance of pineapple and/or in any case very fruity notes, and at the same time very "dense" and structured (maybe even warm-spicy) and with, in fact, such a projection that it immediately made me think of a molecular base or similar. Any suggestions? 😅 Mith Mystery for Him sounds like what you describe. Same perfumer as Aventus but fruiter and stronger.
