... It's very funny to me how my mom and I have VERY conflicting tastes in fragrances. "Cheirosa '62 / Brazilian Crush Cheirosa '62 | Sol de Janeiro" is one of my all-time favorites but she can't stand gourmands; her favorite is "Privilège (Eau de Toilette) | Parfums Privilège" and I can remember how much I HATED smelling it growing up (luckily she really only wore it for special occasions like if she and my dad were going out for dinner). My younger brother and I both love "Old Spice Fresh Collection - Fiji | Procter & Gamble", and a few months ago we were going to meet our parents for dinner; I was wearing "Be Enchanted (Fragrance Mist) | Bath & Body Works" and on the way over he randomly said I smelled good which took me COMPLETELY by surprise because he doesn't usually comment on things like that. My grandma usually doesn't wear perfume because she used to be a nurse and now a lot of her errands involve going to doctor's offices and it's generally not polite to wear fragrances there, but right after I discovered "Flowerbomb (Eau de Parfum) | Viktor & Rolf" this spring I was wearing it when I went to visit her one day and she liked it so much she not only tried some of my travel spray that I had with me but wrote down the name too. My mom also liked that one as well.

Little joys outside of perfume

... I'm really getting back into crochet for the first time in over a year! Also, I work as a veterinary assistant and it can be a really tough job sometimes but there are so many little things about it that I love! For example, my coworker brought her Rottweiler Ruby in today and she's the sweetest and it always cracks me up that she'll try to squeeze herself into people's laps despite being 77 lbs 😂 I also love getting to meet so many different people and their animals, and I also think it's so cool how far we've come with science and what we can do with modern medicine. I'm especially fascinated by surgery because getting to go into the body and see how all the parts fit and work together is so interesting to me!

What’s everyone’s signature scent?

... In undergrad I (along with pretty much every other girl on campus) wore "Cheirosa '62 / Brazilian Crush Cheirosa '62 | Sol de Janeiro" so that's definitely an old signature of mine. It's still one of my favorites but as I've gotten more into fragrance I tend to vary what I wear since I have so many samples and other bottles so I'm not wearing it as often so I don't really have an everyday signature. However when it comes to dance my signature practice scent is "Bare | Victoria's Secret" and for performances I wear "Warm Vanilla Sugar (Fragrance Mist) | Bath & Body Works" shimmer mist (you have to sparkle under the lights!) and either "Sensual Amber (Fragrance Mist) | Bath & Body Works" or "Vanilla | 28 (Eau de Parfum) | Kayali".

... Grew up in the Nashville area, moved to Knoxville for school and have been here since. If you walk around UT's campus you'll probably smell "Cheirosa '62 / Brazilian Crush Cheirosa '62 | Sol de Janeiro". It's not too overpowering on hot, muggy days and works well in the winter too. UT students can be a little heavy handed with fragrance because campus is pretty hilly (when I tell my children that I walked uphill both ways going to school I am by no means exaggerating, if you're headed anywhere on campus you WILL be going up a hill) so even a five minute walk can have you working up a sweat.

... Have you given "Pear Jam | Nette" a try yet? It's been a bit since I've worn it but I remember it being sweet but not really syrupy (and if you're trying to avoid that you probably won't like "Vanilla Candy Rock Sugar | 42 | Kayali").

fave rain scents?

... hadrosaur "Petrichor (Cologne) | Demeter Fragrance Library / The Library Of Fragrance" super realistic but short lasting "Nosferatu (Eau de Parfum) | Heretic" also realistic and beautiful but expensive :,) Second "Nosferatu (Eau de Parfum) | Heretic", it smells just like a mossy cellar! "Rain [Reserve Blend] (Eau de Parfum) | Clean" is a pretty cucumber scent, it smells like standing outside right after a rainstorm.

Trader Joe's Body Butters

Perfume Recommendations
... Hey all! One of the things I enjoy most about collecting fragrances is experimenting with layering with other perfumes, as well as lotions and body washes. I've amassed a collection of body butters from Trader Joe's and have tried the following combinations: -Brazil Nut (supposed to be a dupe for "Cheirosa '62 / Brazilian Crush Cheirosa '62 | Sol de Janeiro"): I'm probably giving this away because a close friend has a severe nut allergy and "Pistachio Glaze (Fragrance Mist) | Bath & Body Works" smells a lot closer to the original SDJ and the lotion doesn't have nut oils in it; I've tried layering with the original SJD and "Flor Mística | Sol de Janeiro" -Cacay Oil (supposed to be a dupe for "Cheirosa '68 / Brazilian Crush Cheirosa '68 | Sol de Janeiro"): "Cloud Pink | Ariana Grande" -Coconut (just smells like coconut): "Flowerbomb Tiger Lily | Viktor & Rolf" -Ultra Rich (supposed to be a dupe for "Cheirosa '59 | Sol de Janeiro"): "Flowerbomb (Eau de Parfum) | Viktor & Rolf" Would love input from others, especially if you've tried layering any of the TJ's butters or original SDJ butters or their corresponding fragrances!!!

... Top 3 in my collection: 1. "Rose Délice | Edeniste" 2. "Moondance | LoveShackFancy" (this is probably a controversial one) 3. "Covered in Roses (Fragrance Mist) | Bath & Body Works" (even though when it comes to Delina dupes I actually prefer "Rosa Lina (Eau de Parfum) | Fine'ry")

... A lot of my fragrances are blind buys but I get them in 1-2 mL samples so I'm not counting those. "The University of Tennessee for Her | Masik Collegiate Fragrances" -first blind buy; got from eBay and it smells vaguely like dissection labs but I'm keeping it because I'm an alum (GBO 🧡🤍); luckily this is the only blind buy I've been disappointed by "Eclaire / اكلاير | Lattafa / لطافة"- got this at Burlington after hearing people rave about it and it's worth the hype "Strawberry Shortcake | Scentbird" -got after buying "Strawberry Pound Cake | Bath & Body Works" body wash, smells almost identical Three of my four Scentbird picks were blind: "Lucienne | Liis", "I Am Trash – Les Fleurs du Déchet | Etat Libre d'Orange", and "Rose Délice | Edeniste"; I liked all of them I switched to Scentbox and for May I chose "Draco | Tiziana Terenzi" because the notes looked promising!

... MiNikhila Hairspray scent is not my cup of tea, but it's all about the memories isn't it? :) and it sounds like such a fun time in your life - hope you get to do it again ❤️ Exactly! I don't really like the smell of hairspray either but it really is about the memories! It was incredible and I hope everyone gets a chance to try ballroom at some point (if you're looking for a chance to try it this is it)!!!

... "Versace pour Femme Dylan Purple (Eau de Parfum) | Versace" smells EXACTLY like the hairspray I would use for ballroom competitions in undergrad! I joined my school's team freshman year and it was hands down the absolute best thing that happened to me in college! The team was my safe space and I've met some of my closest friends through it, and competitions were my favorite part because a) they always made for incredible memories and b) the adrenaline rush I get from competing is almost like a religious experience for me. I got a little tester and sprayed it on and it immediately blasted me back to my competition days 🥲 I miss it so much and can't return to competing anytime soon because I don't have a partner anymore or the time or money for consistent lessons but I still go to social dances occasionally with friends and I hope to compete again one day!

... I'm a native English speaker and took French from 7th grade to sophomore year of high school and while I don't retain a lot of what I learned I still remember a few basic phrases and would love to relearn it! I also know a lot of Greek and Latin roots thanks to the medical terminology class I took my senior year of college, and I'm also fluent in Pig Latin too!
