Flower essences or their synthetic reconstructions belong to the most common used perfume ingredients. Natural essences are gained by steam distillation (essential oils) or extraction (absolutes) from petals, in former times also by enfleurage.
Olfactory subgroups are white flowers, yellow flowers, rose flowers, exotic or spiced flowers, and anise flowers.
