Denim, or "blue denim", is a durable cotton fabric traditionally used for jeans. Originally from Nîmes, France, it became famous through Levi Strauss' work trousers. Denim consists of an indigo-dyed warp twill and white weft threads, which gives it its characteristic washed-out look.
