Sweet (My version from around 2015)
Apparently Angelique means angelic rather than the plant angelica the plant being that which comes to my mind first when reading the name of this fragrance.

So setting aside my confusion that this doesn't smell like angelica I wonder what exactly it does smell like to me as I don't get any of the note pyramid springing to my mind.

To me this has a super sweet but not in any way gourmand, cupcake, or vanillic floral. More like a honey floral but not like honey from a jar. It's a cold sweet, sweet, honey like floral top, bright, almost like lifted with lemon but not lemon smelling. The musky smell on me is a little bit "I've been digging in the garden".

As it dries I find it ethereally woody, musky, bit smokey but not in anyway veering into bonfire just a vague wispy smoke, a bit mossy. I've no idea what is in the perfume but I get the feeling of vague woody that I get from Angéliques Sous La Pluie

But overall, it's mostly this lemon but not lemon lifted sweet, cold, honey floral. On me it smells light but feels heavy.

After a brief, brief bright opening this wears very linear on me so not my cup of tea. I can imagine this would be nice on my auntie as she has the type of chemistry that makes 5th Avenue, Chanel No. 5, Chanel No. 19 absolutely sing.

Osmanthus incense
Angélique is what I would describe as a cristalline light floral-woody. At first, it feels fresh without a pronounced citrus component. Then the osmanthus becomes clearly the core ingredient, decorated with incense and little iris sparkles. Frankincense plus iris is not what I would normally go for but here they serve only a supporting role to the osmanthus.

Angélique would make a good office scent - pleasant enough to help you through the day in a subtle, introvert way.

A beautiful perfume
This perfume is heart achingly beautiful. The mimosa and orris are perfect partners here and are cleverly blended with a delicious jammy osmanthus.
Not my usual style of perfume but gorgeous nonetheless.

Slow approach
The first two times I sprayed on "Angelique", I was initially surrounded by a medicinal and / or turpentine-like "fragrance". I found that little inspiring, I also consulted the fragrance pyramid at a loss, which of the fragrance components that could have triggered and was not found. I took a look at the label's homepage, marveled at the price (£118 for 50 ml), but found nothing there to match my "turpentine perception" either. Curious to see how £118 would translate into euros, I visited aLzD's site: €138.00 for 50 ml, a sample for €8.00. What I also found was a fragrance pyramid, nicely divided into top, heart and base notes, and among others cypress in the top note, which might explain my perception described above. But back to the fragrance.

Pleasingly, I don't notice the turpentine since the third time I sprayed it on. "Angelique" immediately becomes floral-powdery and then gradually changes to floral-woody with a bright spicy note. Smoky notes do not show up on me. And that's all I can say about the scent progression.

Worth mentioning I still find that A has a fairly discreet sillage and the durability is rather in the midfield. After the turpentine impression had kindly left me, I have - against my habit - vigorously eingedieselt to catch once the full dose of the fragrance, but that worked only partially.

Conclusion: "Angelique" is finally a pleasant discreet floral fragrance with gentle woody underpinnings for occasions in which one / woman fragrance-technically does not want to stand out.

I thank Ioid for the test opportunity

Waxy, powdery, pollen-like. Very weird, but mimosa itself smells weird

Mimosa & osmanthus with a creamy, woody edge. I like incense here which adds a touch of mystery. Restrained but interesting

Mimosa/iris with powdery clay undertone. The air-conditioned hallway of an old elementary school. Turns into powdery-sweet violet pastilles.
