Interesting Facts
There are several niche brands in the world of fragrances, which distribute only small contingents or have unique selling points. But even in this environment, the French fragrance label "Chérigan" is an exception.
The fragrances of "Chérigan" bring back the colorful and luxurious world of the golden 1920s. The fragrances and aromas pay homage to the art deco of that era, characterized by its spirit of optimism and boundless desire for life.
The label was founded in 1929 and is based in the Champs Elysées in Paris. Its loyal clientele initially consisted of prominent artists in music, acting, and painting. Because this clientele also liked to travel to Havana for their amusement, the entire island developed into a hotspot for "Chérigan" fragrances. In addition, the jet-set life in Cuba led to a win-win situation for the label and the island. Nearly all of the brand's perfumes and fragrances contain earthy aromas and large proportions of indigenous tobacco plants.
Of course, the premium tobacco varieties are found in the names of the individual fragrances. Thus, the very different and creative flacons then also bear names such as "Fleurs de Tabac" (1929), "Caron Tabac Blond" (1939), or even "Roger & Gallet's Cigalia" (1947).
The other ingredients are kept secret by "Chérigan". But it is known that the noble tobacco fragrances are rounded off with jasmine, vanilla, tarragon, anise, vetiver, or ambergris.

Warm and kind
One of the writers who was totally captivated by the beauty of Cuba was Ernest Hemingway: on a wall of the Bodeguita del Medio, where he spent a lot of time, one of his phrases can still be read, "My mojito in La Bodeguita, My daiquiri in El Floridita".
