Florals, vanilla, tobacco, and diaper

I haven't smelled anything like this before. Right off the bat I get a blast of florals sweetened by vanilla and an equally powerful blast of earthy tobacco, both distinctly feminine and distinctly masculine at the same time. These two competing forces blend together during the dry down, and they must not mix well with my skin because for a minute I get dirty diaper, which thankfully goes away after about 15 minutes and then I get… clean diaper? Better than dirty, but something tells me that wasn’t the intended nostalgia here.

This fragrance has good reviews on Maison des Animaux's website so I have to assume this was a "my skin" issue. Not the first time something like that has happened to me.
