Delicious chocolate and confusing pineapple
This is the most desserty scent out of the Micallef Dessert Collection! Most of them just smell similar to other popular perfumes, but this one really smells like it was inspired by a real chocolatey dessert.
The main notes are cacao and vanilla, which are done in a very nice, powdery way. Unlike some other cacao and chocolate scents, this is neither dark and patchouli-infused, nor does it smell like a waxy candle.
When I first tried this, I found the opening weirdly green, like flower stems, which I didn't like and found a bit dissonant with the gourmand notes. Then I looked at the notes list again, and suddenly all I'm able to smell is pineapple, and I started to like it much more. I guess my nose does what it's supposed to do now that my brain knows?
Besides that, I get some undefined fruity and floral notes, and honey in the drydown. Can't say I smell any coffee or leather here, even after reading the notes again and again.
The list sounds very complex and borderline overdone, but the scent is actually relatively simple: A creamy cacao dessert with fruity accents and a floral touch for wearability.
It's nice, but for the high price, it should be even nicer.
